Yeah no, that is totally on her. She thought that she has this position permanently and this probation was just the formal way because you got her the job. She assumed that she won't be fired because she is your girlfriend but failed to see that you are neither her boss nor are you high enough in the company to help her
Unless you know through their previous experience they are going to do the best they can, NEVER recommend friends or family at your workplace. No matter how fair you think you are, there will always be a bias, and you’ll likely think they are better than they are. You put yourself on the line when you recommend someone, and they’ll likely not take you seriously if you try again afterwards. Also working with a partner is just asking for issues, both at work, and in the relationship.
This is why I've stopped helping people when they say they're trying to find work. I'm not going to let you use my name just for you to turn around and be a terrible employee.
Definitely on her, but if I was living with my boyfriend, I would not be paying rent. She can get a regular roommate for that and not have to be bothered, but then again, it doesn’t sound like she’s too bright if she’s messing up that much at work.
