French Onion soup! An easy delicious classic recipe that anyone can make at home! The darker you go with the onions the sweeter the soup will be. You really want to take your time caramelizing the onions but just go until you lose patience. I usually cook them for about 30 min on low storing constantly. Don’t add sugar to the onions just be a little patient. You’ll see a giant pot of onions turn into less than a quarter of what it was.

Do you like French onion Soup?

1 Tb butter
6 onions sliced
2 garlic cloves minced
2 oz wine
2 q beef stock
2 sprigs thyme
1 bayleaf
Salt and pepper to taste.

Toppings:
French bread sliced and toasted
Gruyere, Swiss or mozzarella cheese

Add butter and onions in a large pot and cook on medium-low heat for about 30min stirring constantly. Once the onions have gotten nice and caramelized add in garlic Cooke for 30 seconds, add in wine cook for 1 min then add in remaining ingredients. Simmer for about 15 min.
Fill an oven safe bowl with the onion soup. Top with a slice of toasted French bread and cheese. Cook in oven on broil for about 2 min or until cheese is very melted!
