The flavored sweet rose syrup is sold in the US in a lot of Mediterranean & Indian grocery stores in many flavors [ginger, cardamom, rose, etc] and I buy them often. They are superb just a few tablespoons in a glass of plain sparking water. Turns the water a pretty color also. Like your own soda but with much less sugar if you are restrained. When I was in Paris years ago I go into the bakery, it was super-busy! I wanted chocolate croissant but was afraid to attempt to pronounce it so I just pointed at it, then she gives it to me and tell me to leave as I'm holding up the queue as I couldn't figure the money… so it was free, lol! 😂❤

I'm half greek, half bulgarian. I can say that we love prunes here in southeastern Europe. We eat them with everything. We eat them as jam on bread or pancakes. We even put them together with some nuts in some dishes with rice and meat. On the road to our village house near the sea coast (in Northern Greece), you can spot a lot of prune trees.

Chamonix is very good, my husband is from northern france and he also said to try Pimms! Those are very good the orange ones especially, I really loved nougat there as well. And then the tuc crackers. so so good. 🙂

You definitely paid more than you would have paid here but that’s not too bad either ! The salt is very good quality, Anis de Flavigny (if you’re ever in Burgundy you can visit the village, the whole town smells like candy !) is about 4€ to 5€ here, the honey cake (which to me looks like pain d’épices, which is delicious) was fine too
I would say the biggest premium was on the jams

About the Teisseire syrup, it is pretty common in supermarkets here in France but in plastic bottle (cheaper) and the flavours are rather fruit flavours like lemon, strawberry, raspberry etc… or mint for example. Rose is more rare. And I never saw glass bottle of this or maybe in my childhood.

I love these! It's always so interesting to see snacks and foods from other countries. Even better when you get to taste them 🙂 I'm from FInland and since there's quite a few Finns and their descendants living in the US there are sites with food and treats for Finns missing home. Some of course outrageously expensive sadly

Merci! This was so fun! I would definitely enjoy the prune jam. I grew up eating them. My husband gave me a jar of French fig jam for Christmas. I roast a head of garlic and add the cloves to melted brie. Spread that along with the fig jam on either a cracker or baguette slice and holy moly, what a treat. Now I want to check out this website!🥖

Little tip from a French person 🙂 honey cake is made to be dip in milk 😌 or even tea if you want 😉 like we eat that in the morning with a bowl of milk and then we cut a part of the cake dip it take a bite dip again and we do this all oher again 🤠
