  1. Would love a vanilla Civ 6 re-visit, from a lens of comparing release Civ 7 with release Civ 6 (and maybe to gain some insight into Civ 7's room for content and improvement.)

  2. I couldn’t find out how to contact the developers but there is a bug on Xbox for the game currently that makes it so in most games, you can’t select legacy’s

  3. Maybe it was just because I played the game on this easier difficulty as well, but I liked the modern era the least. I was able to push yields across the first two eras into the last one, and I basically didn't have to worry about infrastructure and just turn skipped to victory. The first one felt like a fun challenge to meet the goals to pull yields, and the second era felt like I had a strong advantage but hadn't won yet. The third one felt like playing against easy chess AI

  4. Anyone else feel like certain eras are deliberately missing from this playthrough in order to release them as DLC later?
Antiquity more or less covers the ancient and classical eras but then it jumps about a thousand years to roughly the renaissance. Where did the Medieval era go?
My guess is it's gone to a DLC pack.

  5. I learned from another YouTuber that they named the "next action" hotkeys wrong. It's apparently labelled as "next turn" in settings.

  6. what happened with "ONE MORE TURN"??????? is it not longer a thing in CIV games, they not even got that right, a game which has a great potential

  7. Instead of the “Churn Count”, we may need a “Vomit Count”. I think you relish using the phrase “vomit out” with the military commanders.

  8. 35:57 the game is missing two eras – medieval and industrial. The exploration era is overcrowded, it's hard to enjoy it, it seems like a race against time halfway through, not against the other leaders. The modern era starts to early. It's just lazy game design or they'll sell us DLC's with additional eras😢

  9. The game is releasing basically incomplete (which feels more like a critique of modern gaming than it does Firaxis individually), but I really enjoy what is there and I believe its a good foundation

  10. Hey @PotatoMcWhiskey, can you capture and upload videos higher than 1080p?? There's so much detail in Civ that 1080p is just not looking good anymore. I watch your vids on a 4K TV and…. well I just think they could look better at a higher resolution. (Fellow Potato fans please upvote this comment so Potato sees it!)

  11. Civ 7 is so awful. Poor Potato is cursed to play this for the next 7 years 😢

Sid Meier should be ashamed to have his name on this pile of junk-on-rails

  12. In this era the world seems so small… the cities occupy so much space that is leaves the landmarks small as hell… I don't like it all that much. Still not convinced to this game 🙂

  13. So the military victory speech is essentially this: "you crushed other people, their dreams, hopes, etc. You won, but your victory came with a cost". There was no lie there, but this is a video game, not reality and not an attempted lession in morality. The victory speech in a game should make the player feel happy/accomplished, not try to make them feel sad because of the victory route they decided to go with or was best for the leader, mementos and civs they used. Where is the speech that I am super awesome because i won by crushing everyone?
I haven't seen the other victory screens (obviously, since I don't own the game and don't watch that many youtubers), but are the others like this as well?
Like the science victory being: You made breakthroughs in science, but experimentation comes with a cost.
Or the cultural victory being: You're cultural is great, but your cultural oppression of others comes with a cost.
Or the economic victory being: You're super rich, but your exploitation comes with a cost.

PS: did they really have to use a drawing of US planes from WW2? I get it, but could they not remove the USAF symbols on the planes to make them more generic? I know it's a game made by a US studio and it ultimately does not matter, but it feels a little immersion breaking in my opinion. Maybe I am just being weird and already developed a bias against the game.

  14. Drinking game whenever Potato says that the game is gorgeous. (Bonus whenever he complains about UI)

  15. As a viewer, I found Civ 6 to be more "legible" and "readable" than Civ 7, but it's still better than Civ 5 in my opinion.

  16. Sorry to sound so negative but the victory win condition felt lame. We should have been ready to enter the phase with the most powerful units. Though for this game, the AI wasn’t good

  17. Imma be honest, the Chinese great wall looks soooo shit. Like the fact it doesn't connect properly makes it looks sooooo goofy and useless and just bad.

  18. I don't think I'll buy this until there's a couple DLCs. As a viewer the whole city management and building placement is impossible to follow. As a player you seem to forget immediately what you did to "improve" a town or city and it makes it all feel kind of like a chore. It seems like there's so many more buildings than Civ 6. Sure you're not using builders to put in mines but you still need to manually build them via the town or city and of course manually grow to a tile.
Also the income rates are absolutely insane vs previous Civ games. I saw multiple 20+ food tiles. That would be insane in Civ 6. You also have towns with 30+ population. Is that even possible in Civ 6?

  19. Hey PotatoMcWhiskey, can you make a guide on overbuilding ? Idk if its just the UI that makes me super confused but building stuff on top of each other just seems complicated. Hope you’re enjoying civ 7 as much as I do!

  20. That hurricane graphic looks really bad. Just doesn't match how good the rest of the game looks.

  21. PLEASE stop moving videos in your playlists around and keep them chronologically in order. I do not understand why you are doing this.

I love watching your playlists but if they are in wrong order i cant watch it. I had to drop your channel when you started doing this last time.. then you kept it in order and now you are up to no good. I do not know why but please fix it.😢

  22. On the "improved" graphics in games (57:45 and around 53:30 ish): A couple of friends and I have the same problem with the new Monster Hunter titles like World and now Wilds. There is just too much detail that it becomes unreadable and blurry. The old games looked cleaner and easier to understand.

  23. I like Towns & City’s. Like if you just needed a Place to Mine Uranium or Coffee, you could just focus on that.

  24. So far from watching game play and reviews this game is mid at best and really just a reskin of 6 with a few changes and for sure nothing innovative.
