I'll never forgive that Netflix movie, they took a man who at least one historian I know of described as proof that "a man may be a hero and yet a monster" and made him boring. You really have to screw up to do that.

Kinda off topic but if anyone is familiar with the book series "Hornblower" one of the books is called "Hornblower and the Hotspur" im curious if there is a connection? Im aware the books are historical fiction that take place 300yrs later but this was the only other time ive heard the name Hotspur.

8:18 You say Henry "Harry Hotspur" Percy is your 19x Great-Grandfather. How very interesting. Hotspur is my 4th Cousin 19x removed. That means you and I are almost definitely 23rd Cousins 2x removed.
I'm actually descended from John of Gaunt via the Beaufort line. John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster is my 18x Great-Grandfather, which makes Henry V my Half-1st cousin 18x removed. Funny thing is, I've played Henry V on stage in a production of Shakespeare's Henry V.
this is completely off topic but what do you think of the new dna evidence that appears to show that Aaron Kosminski was Jack the Ripper. Everything checks out but at this point its such a mystery that its gonna take a LOT of concrete evidence to convince the public
