About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Maybe just a touch more gold.
I hate that I get the impression you guys feel like you have to sort of mention the gold because some seem to think it’s too much. I think it’s perfect and I trust Terry’s vision! I’m a fan of the look and feel of his designs though. Maybe others aren’t really into the gold, but I love it! To each his own I suppose
Maybe some Corinthian style pillars? I think they would look great. My fav!
We saw a visit to the Chateau at Fontainebleau the other day and it makes your rooms look a little understated, but they are beautiful as they are.

You have turned a shell into a vision that is beyond words, each room is becoming its own special Jewel, even the bathrooms with all your hard work and thought of their outcome is magical, I just can't wait to see the end result.
And every single one of you, are all leaving your special mark, on this beautiful creation you have all embarked on, inside and out.
And nothing is over the top, you all keep the Vision and don't worry about any negative outburst, you have something they don't a creation that is turning into a magical space, that words are truly hard to find for this masterpiece of love.
It really is looking superb, all your truly hard work is really paying off. As to the two picture frames, the two guys on 'Journey to the Chateau" have just bought some fabric that is truly Marie Antoinette style and would look great in your frames. Have a look at their recent vlog. However your work is really paying off.
Ashe don't bend over or Terry will gild your tush. There is enough and then there is too much. As I said before, it starts to look like too much rouge on an old woman. Concentrate on comfort and calm.

I'm designing my own wallpaper, and Terry's love of gold has made its way into my design, the trouble is now I want more gold on it, replicating gold on printed wallpaper I just know won't meet my expectations so it's going to have to be hand embellished! it's your fault Terry!! Thank goodness my ceilings are not chateau-high 😂

The remarks regarding the gilding or gold trims is not negativism. They are mere opinions and everyone is entitled to one. I personally think, that if there is too much gold – as for example the not so nice golden trim for the furniture – the eye is so distracted by so many elements that it doesn‘t know where to look. There comes a point when you can not take it all in. Which would be a great pitty after all the work that you have invested. Yes, more is more until more is too much. However, it is your château not mine. Do as you please.
Please do us a favor and wear masks when removing old paint, the probability that it contains lead is very high!
