🔊🗣️🎶 I knew the northern part of St. Martin was French, but I didn’t know just how #French—until I accepted @JodyCDiamond’s invitation to join her and the group of food influencers she was hosting at L’Atelier (@latelier_sxm), a “steakhouse à la française” 🥩🇫🇷 in Baie Orientale. It’s one of the eateries in La Place du Village, a shopping and dining plaza that was also très française.I could list the descriptors of the #foodporn in this caption as per usual, but there’s no need because Alexandre Deglise, owner of L’Atelier, did such an amazing oral presentation of the menu that’d make you want to order everything. (Sound on, s’il vous plaît.) We stuck to some French classics though—plus dishes that were TikTokable—including the house signature starter, a crispy, breaded soft oeuf 🥚 in pumpkin crème; the quintessentially French #foiegras; tabletop smoked tuna carpaccio; and their special dish for the annual, month-long Festival de la Gastronomie (@stmartinfoodfestival): veau Wellington, where veal is baked medium pink in a puff pastry and served with a local guavaberry sauce. #Wine, #cocktails, and desserts rounded out the night of #gastronomy bliss. C’est magnifique! 👌🏾 — #BonAppetit from L’Atelier in #OrientBay, #SaintMartin, #French Caribbean. #theglobaltripfood #theglobaltripstmartin
