I personally prefer chez marianne to l'as du falafel. It's close by and may be less busy. I personally prefer their falafel sandwich for takeout and have read great things about the pastrami sandwich. I'll probably try the pastrami next time I'm in Paris. Love the channel and content.
1/5 for L’as du Fallafel and calling it a tourist trap is rather egregious. You mention the three guidelines, yet rank it based on your palate. You can’t beat the location in the Marais. One of my favorite things to do for lunch is grab a fallafel pita and head towards the Jardin Lazare Rachline. For viewers watching this, I would suggest trying it yourself. I’m still rather shocked of the 1/5 rating.
Americans know f-all about food… but how they are judging a falafel when they admit to only having had falafel once before and don't even know the name of the sauce is just beyond me… stick to burgers…
I am born and raised in Paris where I live.
Procope must be tried with the salty part of the menu
Chartier of course does not take réservations bécause the price is very low.
They cannot Wait for clients to show or not
Crêpes are not parisian at all but from Bretagne
The Café Léon chain is pretty reliable for moules-frites. You can get a good moules marinières with a small cornichet of frites for 14,90e or a lunch formule for 14,90e (400 grammes of moules and a dessert)
Great video ! If King Falafel is better than L' As du Falafel I will never the second one ! Now I will try to eat at Pink Mamma and La Jacobine the next time I visit Paris . And I like what you said about Chartier .
I didnt see anything there that was particularly appetizing.
Si vous avez raté les explications des serveurs sur la déco et la pièce secrète (Marat), vous avez raté une grosse partie de l'Aventure du Procope 😉
Mais sinon vos critiques sont plutôt vraies, bravo !
(un parisien)
@lesfrenchies I don't think a full service restaurant should be rated on just its desserts, I just don't think that's fair; like how is the French onion soup etc…
Love your videos, guys!
Love your audio. Are you using iPhones to record your video? Looks great also.
I am so glad you didn't mentioned my preferred restaurant. But I ll keep it a french secret.
These are Paris's "most famous" restaurants? What about Tour d'Argent, Fouquet's, Cafe de la Paix, Guy Savoy, Laperouse, Le Grand Vefour, Maxim's, Laurent, and La Grand Cascade?
Never heard of "Pink Mamma" but will have to try it on my next trip to Paris!
We walked past La Jacobine a few weeks ago and saw it was packed. It looked like a fun place. There are 2 places we almost always eat at in Paris. 1) My emotional favorite – Aux Trois Malletz on Rue Gallande in the Latin Quarter. Honestly, the food is probably middling but the atmosphere, with its live Chanson music, is fantastic. Sometimes, I just hang out there with a beer and listen to the music. 2) Fish la Boissonnerie in San Germaine around the corner from Rue Buci. They specialize in seafood, and it has always been excellent. Nice service. BTW: the name is a pun on "poissonnerie" (fishmonger) substituting boisson (drink) since it is also a drinking establishment.
I have eaten at deux maggots many times and I would have rated it higher than you did. My food and service has always been gr8 and the wine is a better quality than most cafes in paris. I have never enjoyed Angelinas and would have at least put it below deux Magots L'as du Falafel lineups are for the outside takeaway window and the fillings are different than inside.but I prefer Miznon which is up he street that runs into L'as du Falafel. Delicious!
Awww 🥰 I love Angelina’s!
Yes I’ve had better food but Angelina is such a romantic experience I will never forget. ❤
😂😂😂😂jeeeez😂😂😂😂
Iconic location, food is not great but good. So 1 star? Because of the wait? It's not as good as the hype? Isn't that more of a 3?
You shouldnt expect “friendly” staffs to begin with come on.
Would love to know what you guys think of Polidor at 41 Rue Monsieur le Prince, 75006 Paris.
You present yourself as connoisseurs of everything Parisian after only 4 years?
Not knowing what a Cafe gourmand or a Panna Cotta is? Calling it a flan!
And you left out a lot of the best restaurants, and valuated some on just a dessert or a hot chocolate! I ll give your reviews 2 stars, at most.
The Cafe Leon is just a so so Belgian chain that can be found everywhere in France

You have managed to find really touristy places and none of the really good Parisian restaurants. How can you advise anybody on such weak knowledge?
To be a foodie in Paris with the love of your life!! You guys are absolute goals. Love when you guys act so shocked when you steal pieces of each other’s meals 😂
You guys are simply the cutest. Would trust anything you two recommend.
I'm excited for this one. MERCI MON ami
L’Ange 20 is absolute one of the best
Cross the street from the falafel shop to Miznon, get a 1000X better falafel or a pita filled with boeuf bourgogne — enjoy.
Looks like your "most" famous restaurant title is really the restaurants that you've noted on various visitors' or website (tourist or otherwise) lists…but hardly the "most" famous restaurants in Paris. For the "most" famous, but definitely not necessarily the "best" restaurants, you have to include the MOST famous in the world – La Tour d'Argent (haughtiest wait staff but the most spectacular view of Notre Dame and the duck so-so-depending if you're a famous person or not); Lasserre (slightly off the beaten path, but spectacular open roof, when good weather, dining and incredible desserts); Le Grand Véfour (excellent fair and known as the birth place of "pêche Melba, named after the famous Australian opera singer Nellie Melba…reservations required and probably at least 6 months in advance); Taillvent (famous for nouvelle but "classic" French cuisine) quiet and reserved elegance in an again "off the beaten path" location. And then what about: Le Café de la Paix (could be the most famous café in the world?), le Café de Flore, a host of "others" and my particular favorite, Le Train Bleu (Gare de Lyon location)???
L’As has a secret menu choice with fries on top of the falafel
Le Deux Magots? We sat inside. The worst dish ever in my life. Poulet with rice. Tasteless. Not one redeeming flavour in either the rice or the fowl which seemed to have all its life juices sucked out of it by one of Lord Voldemort's " Death Eaters!"
Overcrowded at lunchtime like the Titanic without enough lifeboats. The waiter indifferent in the extreme, simply wanted us to finish fast so he could "process" another customer. The only plus point,by sheer accident was that my daughter sat in the favourite seat of Simone Beauvoir, with her pic at her seat above her. I seriously doubt that were she alive today she'd ever visit it.
Stars? A – 5*,it's so dreadful!
Try the Wepler in Montmarte, bang opposite the Place Clichy metro .You'll love the oysters, art deco ambience and fine traditional French food at reasonable cost too. Over 130 years old,the likes of Picasso,Modigliani,Henry Miller and many other famous personalities have eined and dined there. One of my favourite haunts.
It's pannacotta. C'mon.
I'm not sure english/american advices could be relyable about food……
you are asking to give you our addresses. but this is where the problem start. if I give you mine, then you may make a video about it. and then it will be packed with tourists. and then it will stop being good. Or, at least, it will be so packed that I would not like to queue up. ahaha. But there is still the Polidor, rue Monsieur le Prince, which is very popular with tourists. They have traditional dishes, and their tarte tatin is great.
We really love your videos and we would have to agree with the vast majority of your recommendations but my wife and I were in shock you did not like Angelina hot chocolate. We have traveled the world and had to have hot chocolate everywhere you can think of and Angelina is still the best in the world. I agree with your other statements about it being crowded and everything else but as far as their standard hot chocolate…. absolutely the world's best.
This list is funny cuz it’s entirely subjective and it’s narrow in scope at best. You even recommend le precope in a prior video and rave about the food but here you had such superficial coverage with just dessert and mid ones at that??? I went to le procope on YOUR recommendation and thought the food was fantastic.
I’m just keeping it real for all those who take your words with so much weight
I really think that Chartier food and wine are horrible… 4 stars seems waaaaay over rated :/ (I love your videos by the way :))
It looks like a panacota.
why would you go to Procope and get dessert?? its not a patisserie. and the food is actually very good
How can you guys rate a restaurant just on a dessert? The mains at Le Procope are usually very good! And if you don't know what panna cotta is, (at Les Deux Magots) that kind of takes away from your recommendations as well. Au Bougnat near Notre Dame is a reasonably priced, tasty restaurant with a working dumb waiter (not literally a dumb waiter!) that is fun to see. Personally, I think Relais L'Entrecote is way overhyped. Feels like the bum's rush and the meat and green sauce are just not that special. More like an Applebee's or Olive Garden. Not a Parisian experience.
Two trips to France in 2024 and my wife and I can't wait to return. I am learning as much French as I can between now and then! This channel has been very helpful.
The dessert you're talking about at Les Deux Magots sure looks like a panna cotta.
Hi friends this woman very annoying
