My favorite French dip was probably Restaurant #2, with Restaurant #1 coming at a very close second!
First comment 🎉 Dip that !
Been living in LA since ‘88 & I’ve still never been to Philippe’s 😢 in 2011-2012 I would listen to AM 710 & Max Kellerman would always talk about this place
some words are not translated well,,,so its not good to use IA…
The old Nickodell restaurant on Melrose had a delicious and meat loaded french dip.You could always see someone from Hollywood.
The best French Dip is at Houston's
I love french dip sandwich,I haven't had one in so long. Can you send one?
Yummy ❤❤
Blue Palms Brewhouse in the valley has a great French dip sandwich
Philippe's is disgusting, boiled top round slices thin and the bread is like a soaked diaper! yuck!
My favorite! French dip is Wonderful & Delicious! Service is great! 💕
Have You tried El Tepeyac on Evergreen? An Iconic place!!💕. Hollenbeck Burrito
Philippe’s bread just disintegrates after being dipped, especially double dipped! Cole’s used to be better before it was gentrified. There was an old man who would carve slices of beef onto the bread, then give you a cup of au jus! I know they now use USDA prime, beef, and it’s still better than Phillipes

Yum
Being an L.A. native and mega fan of French Dips… it's Coles for the win. They also make an excellent Moscow Mule.
Excellent!
You really need to get Phillipes with a side of jus. Game changer
Yucky!
Best French Dip is at Houston's!!!! i know…go figure
You finally pronounced Philippe correctly… I was cringing when you first pronounced it. Should you go back, you need to try the lamb dip. Personally I prefer the lamb dip. Also, you need to get a baked apple for dessert.
Little kinwn fact 🎉🎉 Coles has a hidden speakeasy bar, "Varnish"… Ask the restraunt attendant to show you the way 🍸 🥂 🍾
Unfortunately, for Phillipe's, hype is all there is. Overcooked, flavorless meat (i had both the beef and lamb sandwiches) on a soggy, unremarkable roll. Neither the jus nor the mustard saves it. Sad because i was really looking forward to enjoying it.
I’ve been to Cole because one of my favorite speakeasy is the varnish but I personally think Cole French dip is to salty but that’s just my personal opinion
Pork is my go to
Not a fan of the beef dip. However, i would like to try the pastrami.
Best Pastrami sandwich is in Burbank at Santoros. The pastrami is thinly shaved and very favorable.
