One can generally find land at that price with no effort. In my hometown in Northern Ontario, a $300,000 house is larger than that castle. There are many affordable houses available; you just have to search for them. You can get 40 acres of forest for $30,000. Stop portraying Canada as an expensive place to live. It is easy to showcase an expensive house, but there are also billion-dollar houses in the USA that are not bigger than the house in Canada.
I mean I can't afford either one. But damn is that Kamloops one overpriced, even if I could afford a house I'd refuse to pay 100 grand for that due to the assumption that I'd have to turn around and immediately put at least that much again into fixing all the shit that's wrong with it.
Disingenuous. It’s a large lot with clear multifamily development potential. You can see from the photo showing outside that it’s right beside other multifamily.
They say serial killers often keep items from their victims as mementos of their crime. Between all the business cards and Costco receipts and those two sewing machines, I'd say someone is doing the buffalo bill thing.
You would be bankrupt in 2 or 3 months trying to maintain that castle. That's why they are so 'cheap'. I've seen cheaper/bigger castles in Europe sometimes going for less than €100k. Nobody wants them. Also that particular castle is in the middle of nowhere. I'm not defending ridiculous Canadian prices, but you cannot just compare oranges to castles. It doesn't work lile that. Also there is plenty of cheaper properties in Kamloops. You just carefully selected a dellusional owner to just not make a very compelling and well structured argument
I was going to comment that castles are so cheap because they usually require significant renovations to make up for their age, not to mention the maintenance cost that comes together with the real estate of that size. Then I saw the photos of the castle.

Canada doesn't have enough space to make new homes

lol the loops, sounds like a disease or something that has you confined to the toilet for 3 days straight
Half a million per year to maintain that castle, at least. Not to mension the insane property tax to pay. Good luck with it 😀

Is it actually possible to buy property in France and just move there? Without anything other than enough money to afford it?
that office room is 1 red yarn loops away from looking like a serial killer lair or a P.I investigation
Its worth it to have as many Indians, Africans and Chinese in our country as possible. If you think this is bad you are racist.
Did the Canadian dollar lose like 1000% of it's value?
