not knowing a different culture doesn't make you stupid. I don't know anything about American culture and I don't consider myself stupid. You have the chance to learn this culture so take advantage my friend🇫🇷🙏🇺🇲sorry for the links on partreon but they are all interesting and even very interesting. And i live near Cholet 😉
The word viennoiserie comes from Vienna (capital of Austria). Croissants were invented there to commemorate the end of tge invasion of the Turkish. The croissant is the symbol of their islamic faith
hello, french here.
Specials isn't "daily" special.
Bread is called special when it use more than the basics ingrediants. Like nuts, berries, seeds…
Cool video !
Mon grand frère est le créateur de Quarkus automobiles, si tu passe en France, tu serais le bienvenu pour un petit essai 😁
(Ils ont fait Pike Peak 2024)
No, not like bread. There isn't butter in bread !!!
Pain au chocolat = chocolate croissant, square
"Pain au chocolat" is literally a croissant in a rectangular shape with two chocolate bars side by side. Half the country calls it "chocolatine" (mostly the southern part of the country).
I've never understood how people can eat margarine viennoiseries. It gives such an horrible effect on the palate, gross. I don't call it croissant since croissant are edible, margarine croissant aren't
Video suggestion: french desserts tasting by 2 brits in a great parisian restaurant. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_It5qopgPZs
(There is also a part 1 where they taste dishes with the same chef)
so, you change the grapes for croissants 😉, but you should also put a baguette first because every French person always takes baguettes and croissants for the day, and we go to the bakery every morning. When I was little, I went there by bike 🚴
Hi Charlie, I think the croissants were made in 2 days to show everything in the video because surely, she couldn't come on a third day. The dough for croissants is called puff pastry. There is also puff pastry in some pastries such as millefeuille (with vanilla custard. delicious! ) and others. Have you ever tasted an éclair, if you haven't, you have to do it, it's delicious. The baker said something that touches me, he said "I like the baker's job because it's the French culture and it's true, it's important for us. Where do you live in the USA?
Hello, stop worrying about your prononciation, you're not french, your accent is expected, just do your best, an nobody will blame you. have you heard our accent in English?
by the way, check Alex French guy cooking, it will be efficient content
Apart from croissants (Butter croissants in fact) and Chocolate Croissants, there is also the Chausson aux Pommes (Apple "Shoe" or Apple sauce croissant); less dough but much mashed apple marmelade or apple sauce, it's very good but be careful how you eat them because the Apple sauce will come down your shirt easily if you eat it too quickly or don't pay attention.
Never heard of Margarine croissants, those should be forbidden !
Fun fact, Croissants and other "viennoiseries" are not French in origin but come from Vienna, Austria, hence the name, viennoiserie, from Vienne…
The three says thing is probably for logistics reasons.
Actually making a good croissant at home in France is super hard as well. The key ingredient is the butter indeed. And the secret is: the butter bakers use is only accessible to professionals. You can't buy it in supermarkets or even specialized shops.
Oh, Charlie, good of you to have reacted on this, but I recommended to you Diane's excellent video on "Behind the scenes at a French bakery" that you should watch.
No. The dough for bread does NOT contain sugar and butter. Pay attention!
Once more, thank you so much. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only french guy who discover a part of our food culture thanks to your videos ❤
Pain au chocolat (Bread « at » chocolate, literally — aka. Chocolate bread) is 2 chocolate bars rolled into the viennoiserie. Note Viennoiseries were invented in Vienna (Austria) hence the name, and ‘au’ group of letters in French is pronounced ‘o’
Pain = bread, au= with, Chocolade = Chocolate = Bread with chocolate
You just had a glimpse behind a curtain… To be honest, no way in hell those croissants are above mid… But that's another wonder about personnal taste, you can dislike the product but respect the process.
Ce qui est assez remarquable dans ce contenu, c'est la passion du métier qui semble animer ces jeunes. // What is quite remarkable in this content is the passion for the profession that seems to drive these young people. A big thank you for your reaction. Merci 😉
Un truc bien de chez nous les croissants.
