🇫🇷 Mon Ami Gabi is a safe bet for good quality French cuisine, to celebrate a special occasion, or for a romantic “just because”! They have three locations: #Bethesda, #Chicago, and #LasVegas, serving every the all the classics from escargot to a variety of steak frites, great for pairing with bordeaux and other wines from the region.
After starting with a salad and the warmed baguette with butter and an ‘amuse bouche’, we tried the ‘Plates du Jour’ at the Bethesda location and were impressed. For the main course, we moved onto the beef bourguignon, succulent cuts in a red wine stewed gravy with vegetables, and the triple steak trio with truffle butter, and bordelaise sauce. Make sure to ask about the desserts, too. Hello, profiteroles! On your way out, consider making a stop by the bar for a friendly chat.
This location is currently closed for a remodel and will be reopening this spring. We’ll definitely be checking out the new look, so stay tuned.
