ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful husband, Simon, our daughter, and —whenever possible— lovely friends and family.

This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and —of course— antiques and art!

We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

    The Chateau de Chambord look very beautiful lit up on the outside for the night. This is my favourite picture. My dog was exhausted after the holidays. I entertained 4 different grouups of friends and my Shih Tzu was super great but also super tired after each party. He is very social and loving and this was a more than usual busy time. Maybe next year I'll get him a tuxedo and bow tie. He welcomes and walks with them to the door to say goodbye.

    A Blessed and Happy New Year to you.
    I want to finish making three, seven tired skirts one is almost done, but the gathering takes a lot of time. Fix the grout, that a contractor botched, in the main floor bathroom so I can finally use a shower and help my husband to finally finish that bathroom.     For those wanting to lose weight, I've lost 116 lbs. in the past 2 years. Choose whatever you want to get you started. But for the past year, I just don't eat much at all, VERY small portions. I eat absolutely anything and everything, just in tiny amounts. Honestly, now that I've lost a lot, I just get full very fast. And that's another VERY important thing. STOP EATING WHEN YOURE FULL!! Don't over eat or feel you have to clean your plate. I decided to not kick in the exercise until I plateaued. My son-in-law lost 100 lbs also. He wishes he started exercising earlier because of muscle loss. Ive kicked in walking and more and more chair exercises and small weights. You all work hard everyday. I'm a 68 year old grandmother who had become sedentary. I'm proud of my progress and am confident my last 40-50 lbs will come off this year. I'm focusing on positive intentions, good energy, and healthy foods to make healthy cells. ALL of my former aches and pains (knees and shoulder) no longer hurt. I try not to be around negative people. Life's too short, especially at this stage in life. That's why I love all of you! Vivienne what if you took inspiration for your next porcelain project from Ardmore in South Africa. Their things are exquisite! Or have scarves made duplicating your bird designs. Or have Steve digitize your bird plates and play around arranging them into a beautiful wallpaper design like Stephanie did with her father's painting.😊 Happy New Year from Alabama 🎉
