Butcher Block was not a great experience for us. However Princess has revamped the way the service is done and I believe the menu has changed as well.
I was expecting more from the Butchers Block and it seemed very loud. Not a quiet romantic dinner I think we were expecting. 🤷🏻♀️

Happy New Year, you two! I realized an upcoming (well, 2026 so I suppose that's quite far to be considered upcoming 😅) cruise is the first time I've had fixed dining. Is the table assigned to you for dinner also your table for breakfast? I've never done fixed dining and hadn't really thought of it until now lol

The Butcher Block by Dario was probably the worst specialty dining experience that my wife and I had. Thank goodness it was included in our Premier package otherwise not worth it.

Hello you two! I really enjoy your vlog, very informative. We’re booked on the sun princess in november 2025, we have a sanctuary mini suite on deck eleven, I was wondering if it’s really noisy since our cabin is near the Dome wall?
The Butcher Block looked like a fail! 😂Might be good for someone that is on a carnivore diet. I can’t hardly eat beef unless it’s on a cheeseburger or a taco. 🌮

Butcher Block was designed to be like you are eating family style in an Italian home filled with family. Our experience there was a lot of fun. We met a great group of people. The chef/butcher Mario Cecchini took inspiration from his restaurant Antica Macelleria Cecchini in Tuscany and if you know him he is very loud and boisterous and loves meat. The restaurant was not built for quiet romantic dinners. It is always recommended to do a bit of research on the restaurants or ask customer service to avoid disappointment.
Another great series! Any plans to go back to Europe this year? That’s my happy cruising place. I am trying my very 1st river cruise this year on Emerald. Danube.😊
Can understand why you had differing opinions regarding the ship. Mr Canuck seems a main diningroom kind of guy .
My wife and I were both disappointed with the layout of the ship and too many areas were out of bounda to the "average" passenger.
Curious about what you thought of the Butcher's Block at the end of the meal? Would you go again if you were paying (not on the premier package)? I felt like you had a lot of "misses" vs. just a few hits, especially on Jerry's plate. Submitted my entry for the secret words.🤞

It wasn’t until day 6 I discovered my favorite bar stocked Coke Zero. 2 previous Barman told me no!! I definitely ate at the Shwarma place many many times 😊
When Terri and I went on the Sun in early December we didn’t get the chance to try some of the eateries like Alfredo’s or the Butcher block, but enjoyed many of the other place’s. Seven days isn’t enough on a cruise. We are going to try a 12 day on the Princess Regal out of Galveston, come join us.😊
Another great vlog series. Just one comment on your vlogs in general. We appreciate so much that on each vlog you put the date of when the trip is taking place. Very few of the Travel bloggers that we watch do that, and I’m always wondering what time of year is this trip taking place? Because it matters. So thank you for that.
