Reading French books is a great way to improve your French and if you prefer reading them in your own language, as some of the writers have their work translated, the books may help you understand the French culture better.

My French "teacher" a lovely woman who moved to Texas from Paris to accommodate her husband's career and would meet with me in a little French style cafe where we would speak French for an hour each week, loaned me a book called, "La Tresse" by Laetitia Colombani. I read it in French for practice and it was such a moving story of 3 different women with very challenging lives. Thank you, Marloes, for sharing you life! I wish you a very happy New Year. Marloes, I have yet to have commented on any of your absolutely lovely videos. My husband and i have frequently talked about how we wish for a lifestyle such as yours! It won't be possible for us to fulfill that dream, but when I watch your videos, I sometimes forget that you are not just speaking directly and solely to me. I know that sounds silly, but your voice and manner are so soothing and sincere! Subscribing to your videos makes me much, much less sad that I won't have a life in the countryside like yours. However, a trip there someday is not out of the question. Even though you don't know me, I am so incredibly proud of you and admire you. Thank you for sharing yourself and your truly lovely life with us. ❤

It is certainly important to embody everyone in the world. People have similarities and differences but that’s what is so lovely. We learn from differences in other people. It is always lovely to hear your insight and wisdom, your channel is such a pleasure to follow 🙂 for books, you may already know Valérie Perrin, her super famous book being "Changer l'eau des fleurs" has been a best seller in France. You may also enjoy reading Lorraine Fouchet. I personally have always loved Amelie Nothomb "la métaphysique des tubes" being my favorite, and I am a long time lover of Edouard Louis and anything he has written. Enjoy the festive season ans as people say in Provence "Bon bout d'an!"

A book recommendation is a book by Mel Robbins called ‘Let Them’ which you can purchase now but won’t be shipped til March. She also has a podcast you can check out. Very interesting and informative. A must read for everyone. Imagine if everyone could follow the ‘let them…let me concept we could change the world!!
