ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful husband, Simon, our daughter, and —whenever possible— lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and —of course— antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Thank-you for sharing. Thank-you the all the wonderful, talented people that worked on it. Very beautiful.
Vivienne, thank you for this. You did an awesome job on this very special event. The world cried when it fell, and all of the work and care put into restoring it is historic. It is absolutely incredible. I don't support all of the wealth and glamor, but I fully support history, good and bad. May we try our hardest to endure and surpass the bad and help promote the good, which is what I feel you focused well on. Much love and Joyeaux Noel.❤❤❤

I visited Notre-Dame decades ago and was struck at the time with how dark and gloomy the interior was, This looks nothing like that. What a difference a clean does.
Thank you sooooo much for this beautiful tour, merry Christmas to you and family, your videos are gorgeous 💋🧑🏻🎄🎅🏼❤️❤️😁‼️☕️🎄🥰❤️🇺🇸
Thank you so much for posting this Vivianne. I spent a lot of time in Paris in 1976-7 & returned with my son in 1986. I used to go to Mass at Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon & stay for the Bach organ recital at 5pm after Mass. it was magical. For me as I watched the fire on my office computer in horror, all I could say was “the organ, the organ”. I was overjoyed to learn it survived, such a wonderful instrument. I wonder if those Bach recitals will continue? I am retired now , in my late 70s, and will never have a chance to revisit – like you, I am struck by the difference, the wonderful glow that the cathedral seems to have. I visited York Minster after the fire having visited before as well. And the same for Windsor. I wish I could do the same for Notre Dame but I will have to be satisfied by all the videos that appear on YT! Your video was truly beautiful.
Merry Christmas and Happy NewYear. I saw Notre Dame before the fire only from the outside.
Thanks for taking us along on this glorious journey. As a Catholic, I truly am in awe, and thank you for including us in your prayer as we also do to you and your family. God bless! Greetings from the Philippines 🇵🇭
@1:27 the fire was caused by Islamic terrorism, not an electrical short. 300+ churches are burned/destroyed every year in France by Islamic terrorism since 2015.
So moving, thank you so much Viviene for taking us on this journey with you to this magnificent place. I was certainly moved to tears. Thankyou so much once again. Gail from the land "Downunder"
Great video.
Also, could you pls share the link for reserving a ticket? I’d be grateful 🙈💕
Thank you for taking on this monumental reopening of this beautiful cathedral. It is wonderful. What a beautiful cathedral. Love seeing all the beautiful pieces and relics that were saved from the fire. It is truly amazing. Wishing you, Simon and Isabell, a wonderful Christmas and an even better 2025. Thank you for sharing your lives with us all. xx
Seeing it through your eyes made it feel as though I were there. When you lit the candle, it reminded me of Henry James' story, The Altar of the Dead, and if I remember correctly, you're a Henry James fan. If you've not read it, it's in his 1895 collection, Terminations. I'm rather obsessed with the story, and I'm trying to figure out how to translate my feelings for it into a painting. Thanks so much for a very personal tour!
❤❤❤ πολύ ωραια
Jesus is the reason for the season
Superb, so informative, well filmed in details, so we could appreciate fully. Thank you.
What an honor to walk with you , beautifully restored and what an incredible volg you have given us. Slowly filmed all the details and commented on all the relevance. I am not often a person that will comment, as I think so many have already, but my thought , vlogs like these and people like you ,kind and generousity with these vlogs to make the world a better place. Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄 Love and Peace 🕊
So beautiful! Such a pity it was closed last year. But it seems the restoration time was worth the wait!
Loved the tour. We were there in 2005 and sat in on a service. We couldn't do the full tour but just loved being there. You showed us things we missed like the beautiful Nativity scene. We brought back two special gold souvenir candles which we treasure. I will be following you from now on. Keen to see your chateau. Max from Melbourne, Australia.
It’s a pretty special place to visit, but can you imagine the impact it would have on you working there especially as a priest! Thanks for sharing this Vivienne & Isabella. Definitely full of beautiful Christmas spirit!!
Thank you very much .
Excellent reportage ….
Thank you for all you share with us. I visited Paris many times over the years but sadly not for a long time now. Thank you for visiting Notre Dame so soon after the Cathedral has been restored. Since your vlogs began Vivienne, you have helped me to recall so many memories not only of Paris the city I love but also the wonderful chateaux of the Loire I visited in France with dear friends and family.
What an amazing cathedral! I can't even describe the stained glass because there are no words for such beauty 😍 ❤❤❤
Congratulations that you reached 30000 subscribers. You thoroughly deserve this. You have worked so hard and entertained us so beautifully. Love live Chateau Love. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.
Omgoodness the moment you walked through the entrance I was 😢 so emotional and I watched the official opening so I didn't think I'd be blubbering again.
❤ truly wonderful ❤
Thank you for the tour! It truely brings on the Christmas spirit. An amazing job done!
I was there the day before the fire and was also brought to tears with that news. So wonderful to see the transformation. Thank you
This is an absolutely beautiful video of Notre Dame in Paris. It took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. I was fortunate to see it before the fire in 1992. It's gone from grey to shining! Thank you for going and sharing it with us. Bon Natale.
Thankyou!!! very moving with a wonderful commentary!
Thank you so much for taking us with you and narrating the features that make it so revered. The restoration is magnificent. Happy Holidays 🎄
Beautiful Vivienne Happy Christmas to you all ❤ x
I had the honor of singing in the cathedral in 2006 and attending Mass on the second Sunday of Easter in 2016. The music was otherworldly. It’s a beautiful place and I’m happy to see it restored. Thank you Vivienne and Isabella for the tour. Merry Christmas ♥️♥️🎄🎄
