My bread molds before it ever gets stale.

I wonder what's the reason you had to add sugar separately? Would it have different results if you only sprinkled the sugar at the end after cooking both sides?
If I'm cooking french toast for a large group, and want everyone to eat at the same time, I'll put the french toast in the oven, at the lowest temp, directly on the oven rack, so it's all nice and hot and served at the same time.
Since you're doing some of the Patreon stuff on here – do the Cassoulet next!!!
In the netherlands we call them "wentelteefjes" , love it so much!
I absolutely love watching your videos! Your recipes are amazing and you're one of the very few bakers on the Internet that keep it about actual baking and cooking and not drama and politics!❤
It’s even easier if you just do it in the oven!
In Serbia (Europe), we make something like this for breakfast. We call it "prženice," which comes from the word "pržiti," meaning "to fry." It’s made with stale bread, eggs, milk, and a bit of salt. We usually eat it as a savory dish with white cheese or clotted cream, but some people enjoy it with fruit jam. 🙂
Cute goggely eyes on the mixer! Great editing 😀
Spud has a big purr!
Why did you chose induction over gas for your oven?
Claire sugaring her pan instead of sugaring the bread… just like Adam Ragusea salting his cutting board and not his steak! Always love your videos 10/10
Omg, is Claire pregnant?!?! 🎉❤
In Spain we also have this recipe and we call it "torrijas", they are typical of Easter.
like this comment if you saw the blender come alive
What a lovely video! Just in time for the holidays. Thank you for making a video every week!!! I can’t tell you what it means to me to come to my YouTube subscriptions and reliably see a video from you and your team each week. I learn so much from each video and you are all such a pleasure to watch and listen to. So, thank you!!
And for your sponsors, fwiw, I buy Kerrygold butter bc of you! (like, a lot of butter) When I have the $ I will buy Made In cookware. 🙂
Hey spud!!!
"why do you care?" have you met her?!?
Is my girl with child? ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍
Currently going through a tough financial/economic time, and it's been hell. Watching your cooking videos and trying some of your recipes has really been therapeutic. I've been watching your videos since Gourmet Makes, and I am so grateful for how far you've come with your digital series. It has inspired me to lean more on my culinary curiosity. Thank you for unlocking this new passion for me.
I wonder if you used a dehydrator would work?
I learned so many things I'm doing wrong with my French toast, I think I'll make this for Christmas morning breakfast. Also, I'm very glad for the pan recommendation. Husband and I moved to a different state and got rid of everything except for two pots. Would any other cooking surface work?
2 eggs, 3 pancakes, and 2 slices of bacon? Thats only 3 pancakes more and one egg less than my everyday lunch. I think if I was hungry that day I could probably eat it twice lol
@CSaffitz How much nutmeg do I need? Also can I use cardamom too?
This looks amazing 🤩
When you started your intro I was surprised not to see rum chata on the counter. That's the best adult version 👀😆
Has Claire done a video tour of her kitchen? I bought a run down cabin and I'm working on designing my kitchen.
I did not know that Claire was pregnant.
I've been looking for a good caramelised sugar french toast recipe for a long time. This looks perfect!
I have that exact griddle. Also yeah French toast for dinner is also awesome
Thank you,Claire
Verdict: MMM
I feel SO validated to know Claire cooks her French toast the way I do! Totally gonna take all her tips next time ❤
Shout-out to the stick blender eyes
I used to dislike french toast too because of the strong eggy smell and soggy texture, until I put sugar on both sides to make crust. So delicious and no turning back. I won't have french toast any other way
OMG!! those eyes
