This is not a dauphinois! There's no cheese nor herbs in it. Try to get old potatoes (tend to be higher in stretch to thicken the cream/milk sauce). Wash them well before and the PEEL them! Cut them into slices but don't wash them again after silcing so you won't lose the startch. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper if you want.
