Why do the French people place such an emphasis on excellence and detail with food? I understand that children in school are taught to set the table and serve their classmates, etc. Is it true? I learned this in a movie directed by Michael Moore. Perhaps this is a good video topic for your Spill the French Tea?

When I lived with my host family in Lyon, Sunday lunch when my host mother’s parents came over was always just nothing like anything in this country where there’s not as much appreciation for good food and leisurely meals.

I went to Paris for my vacation in 2009. I did notice that French people were not in a cheerful mood most of the time. The young French people were more sociable and enjoyed meeting foreigners.
