“Coq au Vin means ‘rooster in wine.’ It’s a rich and flavorful French stew made with tender chicken cooked in red wine and beef broth, along with vegetables like mushrooms, carrots, and onions (sometimes pickled). Crispy bacon adds even more flavor. It’s a comforting dish that mixes savory, sweet, and earthy tastes. It is very good with cooked or baked potatoes, mashed potatoes and vegetables like green beans (haricot verts).”
