In 2002 PLM Pacific 231 K8 was used with a train of vintage coaches, including a Wagon-Lits Pullman and Dining Car, to recreate the famous “Golden Arrow/Fleche d’Or from Paris to Calais. However, on the Friday, a positioning run was used by a tour group returning from a rail enthusiast holiday in Germany to get to Calais for a Eurostar connection. So, we had the train to ourselves, complete with fine French dining in the dining car.
