I am South African with Hindu heritage and I can tell you that French opine on food and wine was respected but never the authority on fine dining in my country. I am certainly not an expert, but I can tell you that we have some of the finest vineyards, finest climate, finest distilleries and finest vegetation in the World.
Our oenologests are highly skilled, highly acclaimed and sort after… yet… even the ordinary French feel that they are experts above all.
You have an incredible way of disarming the ignorant without confrontation. This is wisdom and a rare skill noted by few. Many will not know the demons that you fought to bring you here.
As such, those who understand you, understand your work… but I have to say to you… you are far to young to possess this skill.

I have lived around Asia for some time and was always happy to meet South Koreans there or here in Europe because they are so cultured, smart and polite. To be fair, you're feeding birds and taking out a laptop in a sit down restaurant, and that's bad etiquette. When your wife took out her laptop, that is a social cue that you're done eating and just lounging. She doesn't know when is the right time to return as a result. Servers take social cues for their workflows, and those behaviours disrupted that workflow. Maybe leave the bird feeding and laptops for the park, and you'd avoid these disappointments.
Honestly restaurants don't care about people like you. You're the type that will complain about everything and anything, no matter where you go. If it's that early in the morning you got incredible service for what you ordered.

Don’t visit bigger citys in France they are shitholes. Go to the bordeaux area and visit small towns and family restaurants
