Tasted my first coffe at 8, loved it.
fly spray is a very harsh chemical; the bad smell prevents people from over spraying, thus poisoning themselves.
If flyspray smelled good, people would use it as air-freshener!

Good smelling bug spray is also a safety issue. Because kids would spray it for fun and get sick.
The power of the subconscious mind is far beyond our comprehension. Humans only consciously perceive a thin slice of the whole of reality.
Children don't like strong or sour flavours because of how we evolved. Pick up a ripe grape and it is sweet, pick up an unripe berry which could give you an upset stomach and it tastes bitter. Essential when you are crawling around on all fours putting everything you find into your mouth.

The problem with the fly spray smelling nice is that when you go to buy air freshener that happens to be of the same scent, it's going to make you think of fly spray/flies.
Cannabis is an outlier as most active compounds are alkaloids and thus bitter, whereas cannabis tastes and smells good (even the skunk, rotten fruit, and diaper strains. It lacks abrasive compounds while having the associated oils)
