Paris Olympic officials have been forced to order in huge supplies of eggs and red meat amid complaints about the vegan-heavy menu at the athletes’ village.
They’re now facing a challenge to keep the competitors cool with temperatures in the French capital set to soar in the coming days.
Paris organisers wanted 60 per cent of the food served at the Olympic Village to be vegan, which would reduce the carbon footprint of each dish to just one kilogram.

The “left” is “peaking the world” by letting their freak flag fly in Paris. Their plan? Just call everyone who resists their imposed edicts a fascist. It’s worked well for them so far. Athletes need to eat real high-protein food for energy, not graze on grass. This year’s Olympics actually sucks for everyone, even the athletes aren’t spared.
In other words these games reflect the French perfectly … their sense of greatness is exceeded only by their inability to achieve such greatness

I applaud that France is doing all it can to be green, reduce their carbon footprint, and showing examples of how a city can be urban but also environmentally conscious…but they should do it in small steps…the cardboard bed is a good one but put in AC units and provide the athletes with food appropriate for their specialized diets…this is the Olympics…

Not only the food, but everything, like the very hot room with bad air cond and terrible beds. The country doesn't have enough money to provide the appropriate stuffs for the athletes.
I still remember how the media slandered The FIFA World Cup in Qatar which was the best in everything like food, accomodation and others.
