Limited release grande champagne to mark the 150th anniversary of the Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo
Grande Champagne is the finest and most prestigious part of the Cognac appellation.
This XO is made exclusively from old eaux-de-vie from the best hillsides in Grande Champagne, such as Segonzac, St Preuil and Bonneuil. The quality clay-limestone soils of this cru give rise to renowned eaux-de-vie, full of finesse and predominantly floral.
Long decades in oak casks in cool, damp cellars were needed to age the eaux-de-vie that make up this blend, to give it length and smoothness with a rancio that is detectable on first tasting. Ugni Blanc, the grape variety used to create this Cognac, gives this elixir subtle notes of leather and cigar box, typical of fine old Cognacs.
