2020 The Chocolate Block Red Blend (14.5%) from Franschoek, South Africa and Boekenhoutskloof winery – this is a beautifully complex and amazing wine for the price and a great example of what wines from around the world can taste like. If you haven’t sampled yet, do yourself a favor and hunt this wine down…you won’t be disappointed (priced between $43-65 Canadian). We’re hoping to infuse a little fun and passion for wines to those who have even a partial interest in red, rose and white wines. This 2020 vintage is made from Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Viognier grapes. In Saskatoon you can pick this up at Ingredients Wine Boutique…our favorite weekend stop! Tasting notes: red berries/blackberries. Sweetness level is moderate and there is a hint of dark chocolate, oak and a fun brightness/acidity. Super smooth texture and elegant wine!
