Salon Repairs & Wine Tours
Join us this week as we break out the big guns, well ok just the staple and glue guns for some much-needed repairs in the salon. Disclaimer: I’m definitely no expert in upholstery, but I’m ready to give it a go! We’ve discovered some stains under the window in the lounge room—turns out the window seals have eroded, letting rain seep in and rust the staples, creating quite the eyesore on the fabric.
Luckily, we found some old fabric remnants just big enough to cover the space. Plus, I found almost identical trim. We still have the original samples displaying all the colours and, of course, the price in French francs. A quick calculation will show they paid quite a sum to complete the wall fabric in these rooms!

We also discovered that in 1453 this was the site of the surrender of the Battle of Castillon which marked to end to the 100-year war between the English & the French! How fascinating!
It’s kinda lovely being a tourist in your own town—you discover so much about the history of this area.
