today can you uh take us through uh first of all the attack and then the way y came back yeah it was a very good day uh our team did super good job I uh I felt good on P I tried to go there with the attack but uh yeah then yonas yonas really came really good uh on the second climb and uh then we went uh together to the Finish but uh yeah um we can see that uh yeah it’s now now we can all say that it’s a fair fight that he’s in top shape he beat me really really good on the line uh I did a pretty good Sprint after that kind of stage so it was a really tough day but uh I enjoyed it and uh it was a really beautiful day out there and uh yeah let’s continue the tour like this how do you explain that you managed to come back you had a 30 35 seconds on him did you have any issues well uh on the downhill I felt pretty good until uh one corner was really my bike went really sideways but then and then uh yeah um I was uh maybe spending too much energy before uh before the start of second climb but uh I still went good uh but yeah IAS went uh better on the second climb and uh then I wait for him just to because uh I knew that in any case he will come back uh even after the top but uh so I tried to recover a bit take the bonus seconds and uh try to play for the Sprint in the end but uh yeah he was really strong today and uh good day for him and good day for me also yeah cuz that was I mean I know it’s hard to answer but would you say that today you lost uh psychological battle I don’t I don’t think so I think uh yeah we we we matched each other pretty well uh I beat him on the first climb he came back on the second climb then we went together and uh okay he won the Sprint shot to him for the victory but uh yeah I think uh we can see that we are pretty matched and uh yeah I need to to keep uh keep this uh Gap that I have and uh it’s a pretty good solid uh way to go to the Pyrenees more than ever you feel it’s going to be the a battle until Monaco yeah I think uh I think so uh let’s see the the pess how it’s going to be uh it’s different racing than today today we tried uh like uh from long shot but uh imp pis is bigger climbs different style of racing I’m more I’m more prepared for that kind of racing than uh than what was today so uh yeah the training preparation was more for uh for bigger climbs so uh let’s see let’s see how I do uh in pinis but I think we have really strong team and we can go uh pretty confident thanks thank you [Music]

  1. So 100 days out from the Tour a guy can take 30 days off, meaning NO exercise at all, and still be at the top. I guess the dope is now extraordinary. If you think this is natural then you have not watched cycling for very long.

  2. Pogi needs to just ride defensively if he wants to win.
Big balls racing is for one day classics or if you have no competition like the Giro!

  3. UAE played their cards absolutely horrendously so far in this Tour. Why not shoot Ayuso or Almeida out to attack? Same with Jorgenson who should have been a satelite for Jonas.

  4. How can you not have anything but respect for Pogi! Such an awsome rider and the personality to match it. Being from Denmark I Hope for Jonas to win…. But if he looses to Pogi it would actually be fair by me. Just hopeing for more phenomonal stages like this one 😊

  5. These two seem to genuinely enjoy classic racing against each other. They have so many hours climbing and decending as a pair over the last few years that they probably feel like an odd mix of rival and team.

  6. Yeah ! Evasive answers from Tadej . Why ? Only he knows why but is bad for his image I guess . THe reporter asks : Do you have any issues for that miraculous gap recovering of 35 seconds that you have on vingegaard ? … He responds with the downhill etc.. He didn't want to say but he was very amazed and couldn't believe how vingegaard succeeded recover that 35 seconds gap . Man ! I tell you , I couldn't believe what I saw in those moments !!! Was that a man after a terrible crash ? Or superman ?!? On that steep climb !!!! DUde ! That climb had 13-14% slopes ! And jonas recover 35seconds gap against Pogacar , the world nr 1cyclist with the best score on Strava on so many hard climbs !!! So , let me think straight Pogacar was beaten by a danish dude , who recovered after a very bad crash , several broken ribs and pneumotorax , intensive care , therapy recover and after a short training period jumped in Tour de France, not in Giro or Tour de Belgium etc …. and beats Pogacar !!! This is … Superman stuff !🤣🤣🤣 This is so ridiculous ! Judge for yourselves . Peace ! I hope that the truth will came out in this Tour for the sake of sport .

  7. Later on, folks may claim this to be a greatest of all time Tour de France, but we might have to start earlier. Good for honesty on the yellow jersey! No one talks smack, it's just too dangerous!

  8. Love Pog, but that was silly racing today. Play it smart and let Jumbo do the attacking. His competitiveness and belief he can win everything has cost him victory before and may do again. The back end of the tour is brutal so save your energy and let Jumbo make the moves.

  9. Tadje and Jonas’s rivalry will be remembered forever in cycling history. We’re lucky to live in this generation!

  10. I am Primoz fan

But this year battle. We saw
    4 monster.
    Tadej
    Jonas
    Remco
    Primoz.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ all of them. Wish them well while racihg

  11. hard to believe how medicine took place without any positive results. really amazing how modern science works. maybe 10yrs from now like lance armstrong.

  12. Great stage today. A classic. I've never seen Pog emit aggression in an interview. He was shook up by Jonas's comeback.

  13. I just discovered France has mandated all athletes performing in France must be vaccinated.
I’m certain the French will understand when we boycott all French events
Viva Giro De Italia and Vuelta a España. More beautiful races and superior climbers anyway.

Beside traveling in France is never worth the hassle compared to these lovely peninsulas

  14. Pretty stupid move, I doubt that was team orders and the rest of his team must be thinking wtf?

  15. Tadej must be smart and economical in his attacks in the remaining stages. The question is not who has the psychological advantage, but who will endure physically. Tadej has the edge this year because he can rely on a stronger team and should emphasize that. There are three very difficult stages left and I think Tadej needs to take a smart approach without investing unnecessarily. Probably, now he's aware that Giro and TdF are completely different competitions with different competitors.

  16. What was TP thinking??? As a leader of the TDF, sit back and let Jonas attack, draining all the precious energy. The UAE team is so strong they could have all worked together to constantly reel in any threat, protecting the yellow jersey and staying fresh. That is how you win. TP is racing like he is losing – and he may do just that racing like this!! Joans is in his head.

  17. A lot of negative nonsense regarding psychological points following what has been a tough start to the 2024 Tour… Everyone has an off day where their body just wasn't up to the requirements of their mind and spirit. Even Tadej is allowed to sell 1 second every now and then to his rivals but anyone imagining this is a definitive sign of things to come would be mistaken. 🏁
