Bonjour everyone!

Follow our friends on YouTube @FlorusV and our friends from the house where we had dinner at the end of the video have a YouTube channel too: @lapetitemaisonburgundy5912

The site we visited where we had our picknick is called “Mont Brouilly” in the Beaujolais wine region, not far from Macon.

Another week has flown by! We’re still working on our kitchen project, we’ve been busy in the garden and our friends from The Netherlands were here as they’ve bought a house a little south of us and we’re going to have a look at it!
Hope you enjoy this one!

Love,
Marloes

[Music] it is now early June and although the weather is still not as warm and dry as it should be the signs that summer is really coming are everywhere the grass is crazy high but they haven’t been able to cut it yet because it needs to dry a bit more but I think our farmer will be doing that soon we have been very busy again this week with all of our building Works we’ve also had friends from the Netherlands come and visit so I’m just going to take you along with everything that we’ve been up to in the past week I have already spent about three full days preparing these former windows that we’re using to create this cabinet for all of my beautiful dish wear stripping the paint taking the glass out preparing everything but I’m still not completely happy with the result so I’ve been motivating myself to try doing a chemical paint strip thing treatment one last time to see if I can take off the last bits of paint that are bothering me we’re also looking at the hardware that is two different colors because one window was white and one window was painted blue and we’re trying to decide what we’re going to do with them whether we’re going to spray paint them maybe in a black or strip them and leave them as is but that is for later I’m going to try to take this paint off first for come on come [Music] for for for for [Music] our Dutch friends Betty and Flores bought a house about 2 hours south of us and we’re going to look at it today we decided to drive there through the boj region which is a gorgeous wine region and I wanted to take them to one of my favorite places there to have a picnic we’re doing a traditional French picnic lunch you will see many French families and groups of friends really taking their time to eat their lunch out in public picnic places like these so we did that today and I am so excited to see their [Music] house yeah who was it for our friends have a YouTube channel as well you can see them film here they will be moving in in a couple of weeks and will be doing really big building and renovation Works to turn this into their dream home so if you would be interested in following them I’m not sure if Flores will put English subtitles as well but I will include a link to his channel in the description box if you’re interested in following their Journey to the point of no return huh [Music] yeah yeah they’re spending a few days with us at our place now helping out with the gardening and some of the building works but also we’re just making time to just do nice things because we’ve been so incredibly busy over the past months the more light oh my goodness we saw three swans circling over our property a couple of times and then all of a a sudden one of them must have gotten tired it touched down into the farm field and the other two continued so I was kind of worried about it I think it just must have gotten tired and needing some rest but the cows were so excited and curious and and wild and loud and so I went to check on the cows and the swan fortunately the cows lost their interest and left it alone and after having rested for about two to three hours it took off again and hopefully found the other two and live here at our French Farmhouse returned back to its slow and quiet little rhythm [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we also took our friends to our good friends Kate and Nathan an American Australian couple who have bought a house here maybe about 4 years ago and we just had a wonderful evening our boys came they just had a puppy and I think it is just these simple things just spending time with people that you love doing something that makes you feel good that to me is what life is all about and whatever situation you’re in try to find the beauty romanticize your everyday life I think it’s something that you should try to gift yourself whenever you can I’ve said this before I’ll say it again use your best dish wear cook something that you really want to eat call somebody you love I am wishing all of you the best and happiest life that you can create for yourself thanks as always for watching and we’ll see each other again next [Music] week and you are too I’m a puppy my life sucks [Music]

  1. LOVELY! Marloes your next-level videography of this incredible place you call home keeps me tuning in again and again. The verdant landscape, the overgrown garden, those incredible doors! I do believe however the animals were the star of this week's vlog…Tigrette needing a cuddle in the garden, the cows in the field all a twitter about the unexpected visitor(glad the swan continued on her journey), and you friend's sweet frosted face dog just certain he would get a morsel from the lunch table! Oh and who can resist a new puppy! Just all in a week for you but such a delight for all of us!

  2. Lovely and peaceful… you’re so right good food and friends are all you need. Have you tried rubbing the wood with some “ wire wool “ and some methylated spirit ?

  3. Happy your Dutch friends are only a few hours away now….which piqued my curiosity….are the Netherlands more expensive to live at or is it the warmer weather that brings Dutch families to the wine regions of France? Once again…lovely video!

  4. The bird sounds and the lush green everywhere is so soothing. Thank you for all your hard work filming this for all of us who love you and follow along! Big loving thank you!! 💕from OregonUSA
