Menu built around wood-fired oven at Jack & Charlie’s No. 118

s where are we eating today we’re going to a spot in the West Village where the chef built the menu around the Woodfired oven let’s go chat to him about it and then eat ladies first oven that was imported from Italy and considered to be like Ferrari of pizza ovens really I made the mistake of putting a Branzino on the menu because took on a life of its own this thing will be on the menu for however long Jack and Charlie is around yeah it has to be the least boring brand youo in New York the Yuzu and the sauce the other Japanese flavors the mushroom duck sell inside funny how they have a lot of things that seem simple but actually really elevated like this duck meatloaf definitely not like the one you’ll get at home yeah this on another level to my mom’s meatloaf sorry much modern restaurant but 100y old building when you go inside it’s a beautiful dining room old school Supper Club style I love it
