Decided to do a side by side of goldkapsel auslesen from two of my favorites – JJ Prum and Weiser Kunstler. Yeah these are super young but heck they proved delicious young.
The JJ Prum Graacher Himmelreich GK Auslese is more nuanced aromatically at the moment and has some cool green notes, mineral and stone fruit. Concentrated but lithe compared to the Weiser Kunstler. Goes down quick and has you reaching for more. The acidity carries everything and makes this very drinkable despite the heavy wack of sugar.
The Weiser Kunstler Enkircher Ellergrub goldkapsel auslese is rich and luxurious, primarily centered around apricots on the palate. Richer than the Prum. The finish is intense and super long but not over the top ..it's a whole mouth experience that had me puckering like a fish! Wow. Loved them both but the finish on this one put it ahead in my mind. It's quite the experience.
