I quote this movie every day, but since I'm the only one I know who's seen this movie, people don't get it. I hate Paul Giamatti with a burning passion, and you can't truly hate an actor without seeing all of their movies.
Paul said recently that he knew and still knows nothing about wine. Even recently, he didn't know whether Chianti was red or white. Goes to show you how great an actor he is, that he totally makes us believe he's a wine expert.
Paul putting his fingers to his ear to block them when picking out his advanced flavours is so routinely hilarious every time I see it. He should have won an Oscar for this movie.
This is my favourite Giamatti film along with Duets, I know people say his breakout roles were Private Parts and American Splendor, but his slow-burn nervous breakdown in Duets was incredible acting.
I like a nice glass of wine but being in the same room as wine snobs makes me yearn for a cold beer instead. I have friends that behave just like Giamatti's character and its a level of pretentiousness that is out of this world.

Sideways and the Holdovers are fantastic films
Alexander Payne needs to do a sequel
Thomas Hayden Church's face! LMAO! He's such an underrated actor.

Pretentious fart.
Sideways 2..let's make it happen 😆😉
You know it's serious business when he's on first name basis with the winetender.

A beautiful study in priming, confirmation bias, and placebo.
Love this film
Sorry but the movie wasn’t funny in my opinion…..
Wine is worse than heroin, almost as bad as fentanyl. 🤷🏽♀️
“Strawberries….yeah”😂
This movie is simply BEAUTIFUL
It is everything
Love hate happiness greed
Redemption
There is nothing better than getting wine drunk and watching this movie.
Paul’s best movie.
How could he disparage the idea of working in a wine store right in front of a guy who WORKS IN A WINE STORE?!?
Miles…"Actually could I get a Barely Legal please." 🤣

Paul G. created a character that I so rooted for to have a happy ending. It was painful watching the disappointments he went through.
