I often read on forums that going to the south of France for 2 weeks is not worth it because of the amount of driving that you’d need to do to get there so when the weather wasn’t looking good for our planned trip to anase I decided to have a look at the
Route and work out how I really could take away that tedious amount of driving to the south of France now this trip was 17 days in total and I didn’t drive for more than 4 hours in any day over the next few weeks I’ll be showing you places that you can
Stop to break up your journey and believe me this trip you’re not going to want to miss hello I’m Joe otherwise known as the menopausal motoroma now after navigating through some challenging years adding The Twist of my rapidly depleting hormones I think I found my ultimate remedy hitting the road in my
Motoroma Lane join me on my travel escapades AC Ross the UK and Europe and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button to join me on my upcoming Adventures uh on a serious note I think champagne Saturday should become thing champagne Saturday for me the best part about summer trips is the planning I
Absolutely love it except when this happens I didn’t plan for this weather the plan was we were heading to FY and it wasn’t looking good but because I’m so good at planning I can very quickly change plans much to John’s annoyance so let’s find out where we’re
Going this time we did things a little bit differently we got the tunnel at night we found a park up at night and we had a great night’s sleep so everything should be good we’d stopped at the air at Waton and can definitely recommend it it’s got the full facilities that you
Might need and it’s free which obviously keeps both me and John happy we couldn’t actually park on the air but we did manage to park just outside on the road and the only reason we did this was because we knew we were going to be up and off
Early so we’ve got an early start we even be getting breakfast we’re heading straight on to the next stop as we arrived at our first stop I wasn’t quite feeling it I was a little bit tired I was a little bit grumpy so I handed my rains over to John here Goes here we are in the center of Leon just to walk up towards the cathedral pretty chill little Place well here comes a little train in Lon so a long long time ago as the song says Lon was actually the capital of France and it wasn’t until the year 987 that it was then moved by a gent called Hugh cap who later became king he
Chose to move it to a place called Paris now I know the video doesn’t show you but Lon is actually built on a massive Hill and the views from this free parking spot were amazing even on the drizzly day that we were there but yet Yes you heard me right this is
Another free fantastic Park up so as much as I changed my mind to John’s annoyance I do actually save him some [Applause] Cash Well here we are at wandering fuit Lon with the church bells that have been gone for the best part of 10 minutes now I’m not sure what the occasion is but it’s been pretty Impressive oh it’s just what we need a belonger this looks like the funicular that goes into the bottom half of lam and it is quite steep so I can see why people would use it looks pretty decent although not in operation today just wandering back to where we
Parked up now not sure quite how many steps I put in it’s a decent little wander around this town pretty steep in places no that’s a lie just unfit just about making it back to where we parked up but I can see from this angle is probably about 500 M to Go so this is lon it’s about 2 and 1/2 hours from Cali great little stop in the Champagne region this air has got six for M homes camping cars um great view it’s free and if you wonder around here you can head off to the cathedral and have a Wonder around
Day there’s John just at the machine you pay on Entry here we are always just check it that it you check that registration and it’s £17 between the 1st of May and the 13th of september17 sorry €1 17 and if you come it’s open all year so if you come
Between the 1st of October and 13th of April oh New Year’s Eve in Champagne oh in EP anyway uh that’s €1 13 or you can park for 5 hours and it’s € so here we are pitched up at EP there’s John off on a Wy to find the water you get 10 minutes
Included you do get your electric now on your receipt you’ll get a code you have to put that code in there when it asks you which pitch you can see here so we had to put number two in and a hashtag and then the electric worked that’s what you would
Call being as happy as a pig in Pooh so if we’ve got any champagne lovers or even if you’re not a champagne lover we have have just arrived in the area of champagne and don’t worry we’re going to take one for the team right behind us there you’ve got the ma on the
Champagne and we are now just making our way to Champagne Avenue what did you say John this one’s for sale this one’s for rent rent or sale is it can we have it yeah let’s get it so do you reckon it’s up for rent because of the low because of the
Cost of living crisis cuz that’s not just UK that’s having that is it it’s like all of Europe in fact there’s loads of places around the world maybe there’s not enough room in time for all the champagne yeah maybe maybe I wonder who is best I mean this town just doesn’t just do
Champagne this town does champag I bet it’s closed now even the streets are nice yeah paved with gold there’s money here there’s money here so Champagne Avenue offers a wide range of Champagnes and as you can see here on this sign you can actually do tours of the sellers now moay here in
This video has over 0 kilm of champagne in their sellers yep you heard me right 110 kilm but note the price with TS ranging from €40 right through to 180 I’d want a taxi home for that and here’s your taxi once you’ve done a couple of tasting sessions the bar’s
Closed the mo oh that looks nice in there all the other half live hey I’ll have to save for that one this is not just any hotel this is a mo and Shandon Hotel yeah I want to live in per you want to live in a house like
Per perou per is like sparkling water isn’t it so does Jou mean to get drunk I wonder if that’s the two names of it one per oh yes yeah yeah that’s nice and this is the Museum of wine and champagne and I imagine it’s probably well worth worth a visit but I’m about Trying I know what you’re all thinking we’re not going to let the team down we are a little bit cuz this one goes well with uh oyers oysters oysters yeah I’ve got the I’ve got the prestige John you’ve got the dumpy car yeah cuz I know my champag oh I like
Champagne uh on a serious not I think champagne Saturday should become a thing champing Saturday now the residence of champagne is having some work done so it’s not as pretty as it looks but they’ve got a great view walking down ep’s iconic Avenue the champan you can’t fail to notice that
This is home to some of the world’s most famous champagne Brands some of those I’ve already shown you Champagne Avenue the famous street located in EP on known as the capital of champagne is now since 2015 on the UNESCO world heritage list and at only 1
Km long it’s one of the most expensive streets in the world I think this has been my favorite so far Michelle G it’s pretty in the garden there look but a lot of these places are closing is any 6:00 now according to John and I’ve got to say this without trying to slur because we’ve done two wine two champagne tastings now Paul roer is the champagne that was drunk by Winston Churchill and if you don’t believe me they even named a street after him we’re just walking back down champagne
Avenue and you realize you see it all from a different perspective it’s super impressive but you definitely need to bring a packed wallet is there he is yeah they all close really early what 7 I oh okay we need to find a bar then EP is beautiful but we’ve decided
Um we’re going to go get some food from the supermarket the air that we’re on has got a a Sit you can sit outside um so we’re going to go grab a bottle of wine grab some food and head back to the air so we’re nearly back at the air but
Just up there in the background over here you can see is all the vines and um in the RAR champagne um bar she actually explained to us that the various different components of the different Champagnes so some of the Champagnes we tried um had like that last one I had
Was 50% Pino Noir mhm um and that comes from a a certain region of champagne um and chardonay the grape comes from another region but yeah that there the vines in the background you can see now good morning from EP um middle ofely evening we got back got the oning out
Had some dinner but just a quick little update about the air so I cannot find a gray drop off point so what I’ve had to do is empty my cassette and then use my cassette to empty the gray water I’m also not trusting that for being drinking water from the top up so
It is1 17 fully serviced the pitch is great the location is great but for me services are about a five out of 10 on the plus side though he’s brought the goods burn burn bone hello I’m Joe now it’s been a tough few years for us all but throwing in my
Rapidly depleting hormones and you’ll soon realize why John packs me off most weekends with a bottle of wine and sends me on my way but apart from that I’ll take you on lots of Adventures and Journeys around the UK and Europe so to join me in the future remember to hit that subscribe
