A glass of wine…served out of a window 🍷
In Florence, Italy there are tiny little windows built into the side of most noble palaces. And from these tiny windows, wine is served.
Affectionately known as “buchette del vino”, Florence’s wine windows date back to the 16th Century, and were a means for noble families to sell their wine directly to the public. Their usefulness, however, really became apparent during the Covid-19 pandemic, and doubled as a unique solution to minimizing contact and halting the spread of illness.
We explore the history and preservation of these wine windows, and how they are still used today. Watch as @JacobHarrell guides you through this story. 🚀

If you’ve been here before, chances are you’ve missed something hidden behind the hustle and bustle of Florence’s famed streets. I don’t Small windows and sounds of little bells reverberating around the famed vineyards. This is the story of the Bearcat, Delfino. Or to you and I. Florence’s wine windows.
There was, however, a use of the wine windows that nobody had foreseen. Fast forward 400 years and history began to repeat itself. Places like this one.

Will you be adding this window wine tasting experience to your travel bucket list? 👀🤭
MOLTO INTERESSante
Adding this to my bucket list.
Love you guys. So glad you’re back and bringing us really cool in-sites to culture like this.
I do love me an Aperol spritz, and I have tried a limoncello spritz before as well and it's pretty good. But the Aperol will always be my primary go to drink. Oh…yes!
Great video. Wine windows are a novel little thing I hadn't ever heard about and the video is in the same style as your older videos (the better style, if I may).
Oh my your guide pointed these out! She was a treasure when I went abroad summer of 2019.
GBS Nice
🍷🪟🍷
so glad to have this channel back!
Wouldn't passing the dirty glass back through the window defeat the purpose during a pandemic?
0:01 why does this statue have cake
Thank you for sharing this very interesting video
We were in Florence/Tuscany in May.I was on a wine tour as I love Italian food and especially the wine. I completely forgot about the windows! But it was a fantastic trip! If you can make the trip to Italy you must go! Bellissimo!
it doesn't mean window, it means little mouth, like literally "Little Mouth of Wine" which is way better than window (which would be finestra)
man its sad seeing gbs not even break 200k these days
Italians are very forward thinking
Nice and fresh editing guys! Love the vid
Wow.. A local history 😍😍😍😍
