  1. In the movie, "The Help" Aibileen (played by Viola Davis) tells Skeeter (played by Emma Stone), to hold an (unlit) match stick between her teeth to keep eyes from watering when chopping onions. Just an anecdotal observation on my part from seeing that movie. Whether or not it actually works is anyone's guess. I just found that interaction in the movie humorous.
What I do know is from my own experience of only using sweet onions for everything, I never get watery eyes no matter how many onions I'm chopping or slicing. I've always preferred the sweet varities regardless how I'm using them. Great flavor cooked or raw and they're always availble and it's what the Amish grow in my neighborhood so I have a good supply of fresh during the growing season so I can stock up and dehydrate them during the growing season for year round use. I recommend setting up the dehydrator outside for that job or your entire house will smell of onion for months.
Looking forward to your video recipe upload. I love onions.

  2. Razor sharp kitchen knifes is the best solution I've come up with this far. Cuts through the cells in the onion instead of crushing them.

  3. I tried this and it was fantastic, froze the left overs and pulled em out and boom just added cheese after heated up, still loved it. Went over well with the family. You are going to think I am crazy Mike, but next time you make cheese steaks, and you have left overs that you didnt put the cheese into try and make some soup with it and then add cheese to it after… OMG it is awesome, I did this a few times experimenting with broths and man you can make a dynamite soup with the leftovers… give it a shot for the family one day

  4. Just let it out buddy, let it all out😂 Chop those onions and cry all the way back to your first heartbreak. Then next time maybe throw it in the freezer for a few minutes first, or wear those stupid onion goggles, or stand on your head while holding your breath. Just cry dude, it's fine 😊😉
