It’s Marty gr season and that means that I am here at por orleans’s French Quarter to give you a full tour of this Resort I’m going to show you some of the activities the grounds the theming and show you pretty much everything that this Resort has to offer
When you first walk into the lobby you’re going to be greeted by this beautiful like glass enclosed Lobby you’ve got this cool Fountain you’ve got lots of beautiful natural light this is also where where you’re going to find a lot of your food offerings in this Resort so you’ve got Scat Cat Lounge
Scat Cat Cafe and sagula Float wordss on one side and then on the other you have the Resort check-in desk the gift shop the arcade all that fun stuff right off the lobby you’re going to find the check-in desk bell services all of your kind of guest help needs check-in for
This hotel starts around 300 p.m. that doesn’t necessarily guarantee that your room is ready yes you are absolutely allowed to arrive earlier or later than 3:00 p.m. if you do online check-in through the My Disney Experience app you’ll get a text message when your room
Is ready if you do have any like special requests or anything you can always check in person and talk to a cast member about that if you do get here early and your room is not ready yet they do have complimentary luggage services so you can just drop your bags
Off head to the parks enjoy the resort go to the pool whatever you want to do and then when your room is ready they’ll either take your bags to your room for you or you can pick it up from luggage services the gift shop at desort is called
Jackson Square and it is right off from the checkin desk area of course you’re going to find all of your normal Disney merchandise but you’re also going to find some Resort exclusive merchandise to Porter lean’s French Quarter everything from Shirts Mugs ears you’re even going to find some supplies to make
Your own beignet let’s head on in there and see what fun stuff we can find when looking at this Resort a big thing that you want to know is that Porter lean French Quarter and Porter lean’s Riverside are two separate Resorts yes you can kind of see they’re
All connected together so it’s very easy to get back and forth but they are two different Resorts that have different things to offer we are going to be doing a full tour of Borderlands Riverside as well so make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss that video or you can
Find it linked in the description box below just outside the lobby you’re going to come to this really pretty Courtyard area this is where you’re going to find the exterior entrances to the Quick Service Sasa goua and the gift shop Jackson Square you’re also going to find some fun likee little lawn games
Like chest and cornhole things like that this is also where you’re going to find the Activity Board often times so there’s lots of fun different things that you can do at this Resort this is kind of going to be your main hub for all of those things speaking of fun once
You come out of that courtyard you’re going to turn to the right and there is where you’re going to find the arcade this is going to be have of course tons of arcade games but this is also where you’re going to find things like massage chairs which are great after a long day
At the parks you’re also going to find your fuel Rod station and a press penting machine be here today have you been eating some viget are they delicious oh my gosh I bet you probably have a tummy ache now huh the resorts truly aren’t just for sleeping they are definitely for coming
And hanging out and having some fun you may even experience some surprises for example we were walking around and then we noticed that Donald and Pluto showed up so you may even get to meet some fun characters I can’t promise that that happens every single day but you never know what might
Happen we’re over at the main pool area and as you can probably tell it’s pretty loud and that’s for a reason this pool is actually undergoing some pretty major refurbishment I honestly didn’t realize that when we showed up today but they have the whole pool and everything all
Ripped out so I’m very excited to see what they’re going to do with this new area we’ll show you a little bit of the construction today but we will be back when the pool is finished and I will have some updated pictures in the blog post overviewing this Resort so be sure
To check out that blog post Linked In the description I’ll have those photos there when this pool is done this is a moderate Resort that means that you’re going to have just a little bit better amenities than say the value Resorts one of those things being a water slide the
Moderate Resorts do have water slides here you’ve got this really cool serpent water slide situation hopefully that part is staying this is a really really cool area if you plan on spinning a lot of time at the pool during your vacation just obviously make sure that these renovations are done before you come
Right next to the main pool is Marty grogs this is the pool bar at this Resort again this is also Clos for refurbishment probably because the noise is a little bit not great to be drinking your drink and listening to construction so this will probably be reopened when
The pool itself reopens a little bit of wayf finding for this area so again most everything kind of branches off from the main lobby and that main Courtyard so pretty much right across from the courtyard is where you’re going to find the pool again you’ve got the pool bar
You’ve got the pool there are some pool bathrooms here as well in some water fountains things like that so this is going to be kind of your main Hub where a lot of those kind of poolside Sunny Day activities are happening speaking of elevated amenities you are also going to
Have a hot tub at this pool this is another thing that value Resorts don’t offer but the moderates and Deluxe Resorts do unfortunately again it is also so under refurbishment I’m really excited about all these refurbishments cuz it looks like they’re pretty like in-depth refurbishments so we might have

You have some really little ones who need to blow off some steam they do have a really fun playground with slide and jungle gym and all of that good stuff right here in that same kind of Courtyard pool area both of these resorts are stretched all along the
River right here we’re in the areas of buildings 1 2 and three this is kind of like the smaller section of the resort so for wayf finding purposes again you’re going to come out into that Courtyard area from the lobby you’re going to turn right go past the arcade
Walk a little bit further and then that is where you are here the architecture of this Resort is so beautiful and quaint and romantic like it just has that very like New Orleans Vibe it’s very quiet this Resort is a lot smaller than some of the other Resorts and so
It’s just has a very nice peaceful feel to it you’re going to find tons of beautiful gardens with fountains places to sit it’s just a really great resort to come relax the theming of these rooms is a little more basic it does really play well into the overall theming of
The resort we stayed here several years ago and did a room tour then so I’ll make sure to have that video linked linked below I wish we were staying here today we’re not but today we are just exploring the grounds but if you do want to see what the rooms look like we’ll
Have that linked like a lot of the resorts around Disney property all of your rooms are going to be exterior facing rooms that means you’re going to walk outside from the lobby and then walk outside to your room there are coverings around all of the doors around
All of the rooms but the actual pathways are going to be uncovered so if it is a rainy day make sure you have that ring gear with you each building is going to have three floors don’t let that scare you if you’re someone who doesn’t do stairs they do have elevators so even
Though this is like exterior buildings they do have those elevators for you to use because the windows and rooms are exterior facing something that a lot of guests like to do is decorate the windows so maybe you’re celebrating an anniversary or a birthday a graduation your first trip or maybe even you just
Feel like decorating your room get creative people love doing it of course make sure that nothing you do is like permanent like use tape or like those little gel sticky things that you can stick on the window or whatever uh but have fun with it it’s a good little way to
Celebrate if you’re trying to head to Disney Springs or over to Porter Lan’s Riverside out back by the river you’re going to find the boat these boats do run pretty much all day but make sure that you are checking the times that day so that way you don’t get stranded
Somewhere that you don’t mean to be for my Runners out there they do have a running trail I’ll be honest I’m not someone that typically likes to run on vacation but if you are they do have a great running trail that runs pretty much all along the river through both Ro
Sorts so if that’s something that you’re looking for this is a beautiful Scenic way to do that if you’re heading to the airport on near or some other type of airport shuttle you’re going to come right out front there’s a nice little sign that says airport shuttle you can see the
Mirrors bus behind me that’ll be where you’re meeting French Quarter has probably some of the easiest transportation to navigate of any of the Disney resorts in my opinion there’s two bus stops that’s pretty much it of course in the back you do have the boat that’s going to take you to Disney
Springs and back over to Riverside but here at the bus stop there’s bus stop B that’s going to take you to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and then bus stop a that’s going to take you everywhere else now heading to the left side of the resort so this is kind of
Like the longer section that leads over to pans Riverside currently we are in the section that has buildings four five and six this is also where a lot of resort activities are going to be happening there’s this huge green lawn in the middle this is where the movie
Under the Stars activity happens where they basically have like a big blowup screen and they play movies every night this is also the area where the nightly campfire where you can roast marshmallows for free every single night I also want to talk about room types so there are five different room types at
This Resort you’ve got your standard rooms which are your least expensive rooms these are basically going to have things like views of the parking lot um or are going to be further away then you have your River View and garden view rooms these are going to be kind of
Pretty much like the rooms in this area so these rooms are are going to overlook things like the gardens or The Lawns the river ones are going to of course Overlook the river and then your room category that’s going to be considered kind of like a preferred room at this
Resort are the pool rooms so these are going to be the rooms overlooking the pool area which are going to be closest to the lobby all of these rooms on the interior are going to look exactly the same they’re going to have two queen beds your normal amenities all of the
Theming is the same but there is a fifth room category that is a king bedro again the theming is going to look exactly the same as all the other ones but you’re going to have a king bed instead of two queens the king bed rooms are going to
Be the most expensive room type at this Resort so if you are wanting to save some money you can opt for one of those other rooms choosing your view that you want and you never know sometimes you might get lucky and get upgraded to a King room not guaranteed but it never
Hurts to ask we’ve made it over to the far side of the resort right before we hit Porter Lane’s Riverside so this is building seven and then building six which we’ve kind of already talked about now building s is probably going to be where your standard rooms are for the most
Part however something that could be a good advantage of building seven is if you’re really wanting to utilize the activities and amenities of both pteran Riverside and French Quarter because you’re pretty much right in the middle so if you are someone who is okay with a
Little bit of walking but you really do want to get the most out of what both of these Resorts have to offer building s may not be a bad idea for you now how do you go about being able to determine what building you’re in well to be
Honest there’s not like a set and solid way to do that of course one of the biggest things that you can do is booking the room type that you want that’s going to cater to those different areas so for example if you really want to be overlooking a garden book a garden
View room if you really want to be facing the river book a river room things like that you can always call Disney several weeks to a month ahead of time of your check-in date to put in those requests for certain buildings or even certain rooms certain like s things
Like that again do keep in mind that none of that is guaranteed but it never hurts to ask and if you don’t want to call Disney and mess with all of that yourself make sure that you book your trip with my friends over at goofy getaways their services are totally
Complimentary when you book your Resort and ticket package with them they’re going to help you with all the planning they’ll do all those phone calls to Disney for you and you’re paying the same price as if you were to book directly yourself we are affiliates with

And Porter’s Riverside are basically right next to each other or sister Resorts and you can go back forth in between but it can be kind of confusing on how to do that if you haven’t been here before I promise it’s a lot easier than it seems so we’ve talked about the
Sasago river already this is the River on the back side of the resort so all you’re going to do the easiest way to get there is head over to the river this running trail that we talked about earlier this leads all the way over to Portal’s Riverside so just take this
Path all the way you’re going to go under the bridge just keep walking keep following the trail and then you will be there they do also have the option to take the boat the boat will often make stops at both Porter leans river side and Porter FR each quarter so make sure
You get on the right boat they’ll tell you which one but that is another option and currently right now during the construction of the pool area they do have a shuttle that runs back and forth as well again we will have a full tour of that Resort on another day so that’ll

Take you on a Scenic tour of all of the grounds of both Resorts you can also do the Sur bikes which I know you’ve probably seen behind us a few times those are also for rent over at Riverside another super fun way to explore these Resorts there’s a lot of
Things that this place has to offer this is one of my favorite resorts to do like just daytime activities or even nighttime activities which we’re going to talk about next sagula float works is the Quick Service and dining location here at Porter Lan’s French Quarter this as I mentioned is
Quick Service style kind of cafeteria like so there’s going to be a bunch of different like booths that you’ll go choose the food that you want and then you’ll pay and then you can go and sit down they do also offer order so if you need something a little quicker more
Grab and go that is an option this is open for breakfast lunch and dinner they serve a variety of like your basic Fair Burgers pizza chicken tenders things like that but they will also have some fun kind of New Orleans cinjun style offerings anything from jambalaya to I
Got the Baton Rouge Burger which has fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese and some other good things on there they’ve got barbecue mac and cheese cheese and of course you’ve got plenty of desserts like king cake and we are going to talk about beignet later you can’t get beignet in sagula float works
So if you are looking for that stay tuned we’ll show you how to get those next this is also the location that if you are on the Disney Dining Plan and need to pick up your refillable Resort mugs or you just want to purchase your refillable Resort mug this is where
You’ll do that you can get free cups of water at this location if needed or you can get regular sodas and regular drinks as well keep in mind if you have those Resort refillable mugs those can only be refilled at the resorts so you can take
Them to the parks with you you just can’t refill them at the parks there are two places at Porter’s French Quarter that you can get beignet the number one place is Scat Cat Cafe this is right next to sassagoula float Works they have the famous Mickey beignet they are
Delicious and hot and fresh and you can choose from three different dipping sauces you can get Caramel strawberry or chocolate but we all know caramel is the best they do also have some other takes on beignet you can get what’s called um the Baton Rouge beignet which those are
Like boozy beignet essentially you can get like a little shot of like kala or something in them as well as they usually will do a seasonal or specialty viget currently at the time of filming it is Marty gr season they have the bananas foster beignet they’re essentially like uh yellow green and
Purple beignet with like a caramel and banana or banan Foster like sauce they are pretty good but nothing beats the original also if you’re looking for your more specialty type coffee drinks of course you can get your basic coffee over in SAS aula but if you want
Something a little more fun like this chor coffee you can get it here at Scat Cat Cafe Scat Cat Lounge is right next to Scat Cat Cafe this is the bar and lounge at this Resort but this was really cool on the weekends they will do live jazz and
We’ve come many times in the performers are absolutely incredible this opens at 5:00 p.m. nightly you can come there’s a grab and go like bar or you can come sit relax enjoy the music it opens in about 10 minutes we’re going to head in show you guys what this place is all about
Cuz it is a lot of fun we’ve made it inside we’re hanging out they’ve got nice like cushy little sofa chairs they also have like tables and chairs and everything when you have your menus you’re going to have like the bigger menu this is like the normal drink menu
That they have at pretty much every lounge at Disney the the smaller menu is the one that is all the special cocktails that are specific to Scat Cat so my personal favorite is the bond familyes bourbon peach tea so good so so good but there’s lots of great options
On there they also have a ton of appetizers so um I know in the past we’ve gotten like the potato Puffs are basically like tatos but like crazy they’re so so good you can get beignet that come with like Savory sauces so like pimento cheese and pepper jelly
They’ve got Wings they’ve got sliders they got all kinds of stuff in here so maybe if you aren’t feeling a full full meal this is a great place to come hang out get your drinks listen to some music eat some like heavier appetizers and really just enjoy the evening again the
J players are only here on the weekend so make sure that you’re checking the activity schedule for that but as a local this is some place that we come almost every weekend that’s Port orleans’s French Quarter this Resort has so many cool things to offer from Fantastic theming really fun
Activities and overall it’s just a very relaxing fun Resort I highly highly recommend it’s one of my personal favorites and because it’s a moderate Resort I love that it’s both a pretty good price point but you still get really great amenities even if you aren’t staying here you can still visit
