Hello lovelies I’m Angela this is Parisian farm girl ban venu welcome to the channel my children have told me how crazy my hair looks today that’s okay because uh we are gearing up for the big project and so up we go so as you know if you watched uh last Friday’s video If
You haven’t you can check that out I’ll put a link up here but as you know uh we’re in the Biddle in the Biddle we’re in the middle of a big kitchen rehab so if you’re brand new to the channel long story short six years ago we bought this
Ecco house it was extremely outdated it was like a 1983 Time Capsule Ecco house means we have no duct work the front of the house is two stories of greenhouse it in theory heats the house and keeps circulating and all that jazz who cares the kitchen was horrible it was uh like
JC Penney blue wallpaper with little pink flowers and um Cedar cabinets all the way around that came down and sort of chopped the room in half with an electric stove right in the middle of the room really scary Ikea lights that looked like sperm we had a lot of fun
Making jokes about those uh that was the first thing to go we ripped all of that out and our goal was to make an unfitted kitchen right behind me where the lon is was a huge Pantry that jutted out into the middle of the room the room was
Really chopped up and now it’s a huge space it’s about 300 squ ft and um the tile is going to be pulling down the driveway any moment but what I promised you was I would show you how I uh sort of temporarily styled the space so we
Are creating and we did a few years ago and we’re continuing in that fashion we’re creating what’s called an unfitted kitchen so the final straw was what happened last Friday we took out the remaining cabinets they were a lot of you asked like why did you do that they
Were broken I know navy blue cabinets are really pretty we painted them navy blue I had really sweet uh vintage Hardware that I put on them from Etsy that was like lipstick on a pig that was to hold me over that’s what we’re always doing we’re doing a hold over and then
We’re pulling the trigger and doing the big project so we’re doing the big project those cabinets had to go there was a lot of family drama over cabinet fronts that would pop off when you pulled the drawers and and all that jazz so here we are I promised you that I
Would show you how I’m styling the kitchen temporarily to sort of keep my sanity in the middle of the project there’s going to be a lot of moving and shaking we’ll end up eating in the dining room a lot of things are going to have to move around for us to tile this
Huge space but for now now what I’ve done is I’ve brought in a Costco Baker rack and that is where I’m storing all my cast iron and our family dishes now what I was able to do in taking out those navy blue cabinets was really
Purge the kitchen and as a home cook and Mom of six like take a look at my inventory and think what do I really need in this space I want and I like to have all my tools right at hand so if you’ve seen my kitchen you’ve seen the
Salt and pepper shaker and the measuring cups and the sugar and the flour and the knives everything’s within reaching distance and that’s the way I like it um but I was able to just really Purge and get a feel for what I want to take into this new space moving forward so I
Brought in a baker’s rack and what I did was I measured the um sort of middle shelf to be counter height not that big of a deal at that time a few weeks ago I thought I was going to put a countertop on it but that is where I have my
Cabinet and that’s where we keep all of our protein shakes and vitamins and first aid and things like that and I’ve got my KitchenAid mixer there for our daily bread and our dishes that are our main dishes that we use every day the ones that we break all the time and we
Sort of just cycle through rather quickly and then I took out the middle shelf and had Joel push the top shelf all the way to the top and that’s where I’ve hung my cast iron and I have some other Goods up in baskets on the top of
That shelf so it’s a really functional utilitarian it’s not all that beautiful it’s not all that glamorous but it does have that bit of charm that happens when you create an unfitted kitchen so if you’re new to this concept of an unfitted kitchen I invite you to visit
Parisian Farm girl.com because I’m going to blog about this idea so you can learn a little bit more about it and if you love things like this if you love interior design and um you want to be a part of this movement I’m creating where I want to help you become your home’s
Very best interior designer then I invite you to click the top Link in this video description or whatever I have up here and join my oldw world design Society so this is a private Forum full of amateur and professional designers alike and we meet there every week on
Mondays I issue a design challenge for the week that you can participate in to really stretch your eye and stretch your skills and then on Friday I do a live coffee talk so we can visit Together live and once a month you can submit your photographs and design questions to
Me and I will answer them during a live design Q&A call so my treat to you is that I offer you the first week free so you can see what it’s all about and decide if it’s something where you want to create friendships and stick around and grow in your interior design skills
So check that out I’d love to see you over there if you’re brand new leave a comment in the Forum the old world design Society say hi an I’m new I joined because I saw your video on YouTube I would love to know that so I’m going to blog more about this unfitted
Kitchen idea and you can read that at Parisian farmgirl tocom so I created the baker’s rack and it’s really working for us we’re about 10 days in and as you know I have an old workbench of an island that’s from an old garage I bought it from my mom she had it I’m
Like Mom I got to have that piece I love it and then I salvaged um quite a few pieces of Carrera marble for the top of that so that’s been here for quite a while and that’s where I do all of my baking for my meat and veg and that sort
Of cutting I use the Butcher Block that’s in the center of the room right in front of luga which is what we affectionately call our uh Lan and we named her that because we love the show The Dells and Corfu and their maid’s name is lucreta so we thought this would
Be a great name for the range if you know me you know I like to name things I name rooms and name things so luga it is she’s our Workhorse and um she does a good job for us about three times a day and she’s sort of the Jewel of the
Kitchen so when you walk in the kitchen you see her that will not change what will change and if you follow on Instagram you’ve seen some of this is that I am hand painting hundreds of tile to look like the tile in Monae’s kitchen you can buy them online they’re about
$45 a piece I want to do this whole room so I need to do it myself I have almost enough done to finish this top section right here which is very very exciting and I’m going to go ahead and tile this section where the copper goes before I
Even worry about having the rest done because I want to enjoy it it probably will take me the better part of a year to paint all of them and I want a little bit of instant gratification so that’s going to go right here where the copper
Is and in a few weeks I get a ton of questions on copper so in a few weeks I’m going to share a video with you on all the different ways you can clean your copper from the most toxic to to the most surprising and least toxic I’m
Really looking forward to sharing that with you and um kind of giving you some of my ideas on copper maybe share some pieces that I’ve had customade for the shop if you want to check that out you can also to create a little bit more space because we did take out the Big
Stretch that was left of the Butcher Block uh countertop I brought in a harvest table now our idea with this is another DIY project that you’ll see over the next few months um I love a drap table so a draper table is an antique that they used to unfurl
The fabric on um tailor and habid Dashers and things like that and I would like to make my own because an antique Drapers table is very expensive so I’d like to make our own out of this table for now we just brought it up because we
Needed just some more space so this is not a Prep Station you’re going to see it and you’re going to think yeah I wouldn’t prepare food on that know neither would I but it’s a good space for the blender and it’s a good space to set things down when I am reaching for
Them when I’m working at my other prep stations like the marble and the Butcher Block so this is what it is right now I put some of my art back on the walls just to sort of make it feel like home knowing that over the next few weeks so
Much is going to change as soon as that tile arrives uh I’m going to pick a new paint color for this room right now the color is rever peor uh I get a lot of questions about the paint colors in the house and if you do visit Parian
Farmgirl tocom you’ll be able to see that there is a place where you can enter your email address and get my newsletter that gives you a weekly notice every time we have a new YouTube video or a new blog post and my gift to you is a complete paint chart of all the
Colors that we’ve used in our house but for starters what you see and what you’ve seen for the past few years on this wall is rever peor I love this color but it’s got to go I had it in my previous house I’ve had it for 6 years
In this house and I need to be done with it there are things that I love in this kitchen I love the beams I love luga I love this bit that we made a few years ago and I love the copper sink it needs new faucets uh there are two more birch
Logs that need to go uh that are are still holding up the sink so I will be hunting for some really great brackets in the meantime so much is going to change I need to Pace myself and I know I’m really going into the thick of it
With needing to have meals made and Frozen and ready to go it’s going to be stressful to take out all these wood floors to try to not destroy them so we can use them in other areas of the house put down the Hardy Board put down the
Tile not to mention that we have to get all the tile from out on the highway back to our garage because the semi will not or the big truck will not come all the way down our driveway with this tile so I’m watching the driveway keeping an
Eye on him because we need to put out some cones and maybe some tarps in case it rains or snows and then tile by tile as a family we need to bring this tile into the safety of our home so we have our work cut out for us but I promised
You I would share with you a little a little bit more about this space and how I sort of made it functioning for us functionable after we took those cabinets out last week so I’m so glad you’re here for the ride it’s feeling like a little bit of a wild ride so yeah
Visit Parisian Farm girl.com I would love to have you join the mailing list check out the shop all that kind of fun stuff check out this video right here if you haven’t seen it yet of course make sure you have subscribed to the channel and I will see you on Monday if you
Hadn’t noticed we’re knocking out a video every Monday and every Friday I’ll see you on Monday which is very very soon AO

I can't wait to see the tile you chose. Wonder if it's the same thing that Shaye has? I love your kitchen, it's always been one of my favorite rooms in your home.
How dare you make fun of JC Pen’a! Clearly it’s a French department store 😂
I was hoping the old door/ shelf wasn’t going to the curb
"How you're making it 'Function' in the meantime" for you & family… We get it 🤗 Bring it on lovely…
Your hair is perfect love. I’m so excited for you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh Angela… I teared up when you mentioned your hand crafted tile. I can envision it already in your kitchen. ( So incredible ) I'm so thrilled for you. You are making your dreams a reality! You are a true inspiration! Aso…I will be keeping in tune for the terracotta tile installation as well. I'm geeking out! Wish I were a fly on the wall! 😂😂😂 Keep up the great work!!! ❤❤❤
👍🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼!!!! I'm in awe of your vision and fortitude!! You are AMAZING!!! I LOVE!! " A walk in the clouds!!" You have such a great attitude.. it's gonna get worse before it gets better! I love how you still " pretty up your space" in the mayhem.
God bless you!!🕊️
Challenging but exciting for sure! Cheers and thanks for sharing!!!!
Tile by Tile I know that your kitchen will be done just right. I love watching how the house became your Home!!
Lots of exciting changes to look forward to. I can't even imagine the amount of work. But the final reveal will show us it was all worth it. As for the tile hauling…. can you attached a trailer to the back of your gater and drive in small loads at a time?
I can't wait to see it all. Blessings
I have a question for you, Angela. Do you have French Ancestry? I love all that is French but do not have French ancestry. Thank you! ❤
Have followed your journey before you moved…and oh have learned soooo much.
So thankful for your channel…the talent you possess….is unreal…and your beautiful family…and oh so kind and funny hubby.
GOD BLESS YA ALL..ALWAYS
❤❤❤
Jacques Pennay wallpaper was so in in the 70s.❤
Can’t wait to see the finished project. That hand painted tile looks great! A sneak peak ofwhat is to come. We redid 2 kitchens so much work but so worth it both times. Now we build (a major downside) dream home and had the kitchen/dining room all done for us this time and am loving it. It’s just the2 of us now except when they all come home and bring the grands.
How exciting!! I just finished (September) using my laundry room as my kitchen for a span of ten months (large diy reno). It’s exhausting but so worth it! Can’t wait to see your floors go in!!
Wow Angela love the handpainted tiles, we are in a remodel also. The older I get the remodeling becomes more challenging, but still exciting!
Curious about the tile you are painting…A) Do you have a video on this already? B) What type of finish are you doing? Basically, how will you clean them when they get that misty-dusty-filmy "kitchen-y" dirt on them?
Thanks!!😊
Love yur "crazy" hair. It's a free face-lift. 😘
I've wanted an unfitted kitchen for 30 yrs. Never had the nerve to tear out original hand built cabinets. When I look at top line cabinets at the big box stores I say, "nah".
I have had an unfitted kitchen for 33 years in my home in Wales which contains a huge old school cupboard and an original very heavy French bakers stand in black iron and brass. In that time my friends have gone through many modern fitted kitchens costing multi thousands of pounds. I love my kitchen and I love yours Angela. xx
Ahhh. From the first glimpse in this video, the breathing space that you get from losing those cabinets is just perfect.
I was so happy to find your channel years ago. You have that unique style that I absolutely love! Seems Everyone loves the white and gray sterile kitchen, I just can’t 😏
I feel the same about having all my things handy when creating meals for my family, and using lovely dishes to enjoy not hide away.
I enjoy your style and appreciate your videos. Thank you for sharing
Oh, I’m so looking forward to your unfitted kitchen look…I’m so glad I to have found your channel and love your ideas on all your projects you have done…you have inspired me on a lot of your decor/ideas that I put into our home…I love it so much…LOL…my hubby just shakes his head at me cause I’ve changed my decor a few times from primitive to farmhouse and now French farmhouse…but I loved them all…THANK YOU AGAIN for your videos and looking forward to Monday’s video…❤❤❤
So love your style❤. I just went back and watched your video on painting delft tile. Could you share the paint you are using. Does it require kiln firing or can it be oven cured? Curious in Michigan 😊
Great idea for using hardibacker first on the floor then the tile we did the same in Miami it will be forever good luck we know what caring tile by tile to the yard from the front of the home your stretch is much much longer.❤❤❤
Looking forward to see all you do in this kitchen. Just love everything so far
LOVE the show Durells in Corfu too!
Very beautiful and sooo inspiring. Will your tiles be washable?…
I tell all my remodel clients. "take a deep breath just relax. Remodeling is like child birth. After a remodel is all over you will forget the pain"
