In my head you know absolutely fabulous it’s just something about data it’s just a current show but it’s been in our lives for 24 years yeah which is nuts 1990 was the first 26 26 years Wow and Joanna you were saying when it when you first got cast and your was like the

Chemistry you didn’t feel it look is really I didn’t I’ve known about everybody knew about French and Saunders every new about that and I’d been asked I’ve been sent this unbelievably funny script and I was longing to it I couldn’t believe it I laughed out loud rebel you know you open something you

Laugh I died yet oh very very rare is the time you read the script you’re like this is gold until I went round to meet Jennifer the first time ever first time ever at the BBC and we sat in a pretty zod little office and we sat

Together like this success your little chairs if we were sitting in the back of a taxi good morning good news no oh hello I’m Joanna he opened up the page and we started to read I didn’t know who Patsy was because it hadn’t explained who she was you

Don’t explain I know but you you didn’t you weren’t the idea I had for Patsy absolutely true no I mean it was better you made it better we right up through a couple of times and each time Jennifer just sat there just staring oh it is oh oh

So then we try it again and I kind of I almost said shall I do it Scottish or something at the end John Wathan our wonderful producer who’s through his nurses through everything said well jolly good so marvellous in rehearsals Arthur and I went home to my agent not my

Presentation I just said get me out of it she hates me she said nothing to me she just said went wrong I said get me out but my agent said it’s only a pilot just do it I mean now look yeah now you know I did like the alcoholic and the

Drug stuff was just shut up I know that was Jenna I didn’t know anything about drinking her was that we got on and we had it we had just had such a good laugh but everything that she bought which was the modeling and the other stuff that

The city stuff and the drug taking we just have fun inventing it and it was and weirdly the fashion world obviously influenced her but Bananarama the the former lady band they favor lady bad the old man they banjee but they later part well yeah because Bananarama were the hardest drinking

Girls I’ve ever met in the 80s I mean oh they weren’t in it never got Rod’s never done drugs and because doing my work with them of course and lead to the comic relief thing together we kind of got to know them I’d never met girls that drunk so

Hard because in those days people didn’t drink vodka they drunk so much vodka they would drink bottle of vodka you know Nick come on let’s go party and we used to go and party with them and just watch them and I remember one of them opening a cab door and coming out us

First I’m thinking it was the most brilliant thing I’d ever seen I love her will it be that I’m just saying speaking of drinking on my one day on the adverb set it was like totally how you would imagine it because it was like working for like one hour

And then drinking champagne for the rest of it suddenly new bottles came out she wasn’t alone it was fun it was you we just want to let you sound very good best day at work ever the day I did I just left not the DLR

  1. Joanna is a pro. Including Rebel in a story she knows will be Jen and Joanna heavy.

  2. Still in love with Jennifer and Joanna, not for their beauty but those fantastic personalities. I love naughty Jen and surprisingly innocent Jo!

  3. I wish they were still on. I never laughed so hard in my life ! Thanks girls !!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  4. i've never seen them interviewed together before… what a marvelous chemistry still exists between these comedy legends!! so happy to see this

  5. I think Ab-Fab was funny for lots of different reasons, one of them being that they had lots of different types of comedy in it, so it tickled lots of funny bones, not just one repeatedly

  6. I am afraid that I ever met Joanna and Jennifer in person, I'd be fangirling so bad, I'd embarrass myself. I've been a huge fan of Joanna's since her New Avenger days. I thought Purdey was the coolest woman ever.

  7. Two brilliant performers and Saunders also wrote the stuff!! Just the best – who can compete with those Absolutely Fab episodes? Hard to beat the brilliance of those shows!!!

  8. "That's Jennifer, I didn't know anything about drinking" my God it's one of the best line of the show!!!

  9. I love Ab Fab! I know this is old but, as an Amaerican, I do not know what Graham's reference to the DLR means….nevermind, just Goggled it. I left this comment because Google tells me what the term means it does not help me to figure out why that is a funny comment. Please help.

  10. From a "Yank" on the other side of the pond: these two immensely talented women are the Laurel & Hardy's of British comedy. Brilliant writing. Genius comedic timing. Superb BBC production quality. They have made me laugh harder than even Del Boy in OFAH and are the best of Great Britain. Thank you for so damn many belly laughs.
