Well we’ve upped the budget this week for a pretty special Roka very nice wine indeed this is a wine from bodas tarong in Roka Alta uh widely regarded as one of the best of the three sub regions of Roka and this is their sepa cenarius or 100y old Vines uh tempero

Soils in rioka Alta aged for 7 months purely in French Oak barrels another 10 months in the Sellar before the wine is released what do you get well it’s a wine with lots of aromatics lots of lovely aromatics I mean there’s kind of um black curtain cherry plum all those dark
Black fruits a nice Sheen of quality Oak little bit of vanilla but not the kind of coconuty spice of American Oak and also little kind of floral highlight something that reminds me of kir cherries or Violet perhaps in the mouth it’s firm and it’s structured there’s a kind of sandiness
To the tannins very P acidity but then that kind of MOA coffee chocolate character of the oak comes through all the time quite intense ripe black fruit in the mid pallet but it has some structure this wine um it is delicious now 13 1 12% alcohol so quite nicely
Balanced will also seller I’m sure but a very good example of a kind of modern French Oak Tria of high quality this is the bodas Tarone sepas cenarius Roka ala 2018 por at 24.95 from fine wine direct and it is my wine of the Week
