Kind of related sticking to safe foods so if you’re on the Spectrum you probably have some foods that have like safe textures that always are almost always feel good to eat for me it’s french fries like sometimes I have a hard time eating things with different textures kind of maybe related to arfit
I have another video over avoidant restrictive food intake disorder if you’re interested in learning more about that but my safe foods are french fries and this protein bar that I’ve eaten like a million of because it always tastes good to me

Crisps (chips) and fries for me
It's graham crackers and italian ice, atm and for the last two years.
Also, I greatly appreciated it when I went to look for the ARFID video. You provide a warning and suggest to be in the right place to hear and learn about this…. and wow! I evaluated and realized I very much WAS NOT in a frame of mind to both take in and look at myself in relation to anything, particularly potentially "heavy" stuff. Sometimes you have to look at the weights and KNOW you won't be lifting that! At least not at this time.
Noodles are my safe food. And tea.
Pizza – I should have seen it sooner but I’ve eaten pizza near daily for 25 years now
We've switched entirely from regular mac and cheese to a brand that's protein-rich! It's called muscle mac and it's originally designed with autistic folks in mind, so some of the profit also goes towards autism research. I can feel better about it for my kids and myself.
So refreshing to hear you talk about this. Once again, I thought "safe foods" was just a "me" thing. Ironically, just yesterday, I wasn't able to get my favorite protein bars, even after driving far out of my way to find them. Not gonna lie, it's kinda got me freaked out.
Macking cheese 🤤
There is one food I absolutely CANNOT stand to even look at and that's Stuffing.
Can I ask which type of protein bar?? Been looking for one that I don't hate :p

I am pursuing an assessment for autism. Food is a big issue for me. I have been a vegetarian since 2016 and vegan since October 2023. I am a very repetitive eater. I eat the same foods all the time.
Now im curious what kind of protein bar you eat 👀❤👀
Butter noodles for our family ❤
Refried beans.
French fries.
The GREEN Gluten free pho bowl–because the blue one's broth touches my mouth in ways it was not intended.
when i went through some of the worst food struggles ive ever gone through, earlier this year, i found out i like the generic replacement meal shakes! for me its walmarts great value brand, and chocolate flavor, and NOT the ones with extra protein or anything. they have been (maybe literally?) lifesaving for me and they are a great thing for me to grab on the way out the door to work if i forgot or didn’t have time to eat breakfast. if i don’t eat something i will be on the fast track to a breakdown.
Lol I just got the ping for this video when I was thinking of taking a picture of my pasta that I’m about to make and sent to my BF combined with a gif that shows how divine this food looks to me 😂
For context: I’ve been away from home for the last 5 weeks and could not really eat what I wanted so coming home and eating my plain pasta with some butter and cheese OMG you guys!!!
WOW! Never thought that French fries were my sage food. Such a weight lifted from me!
And Cheesies – those crunchy, salty bites of orange-colored corn puff! My daughter doesn’t get why I like them, because they are “bad for my health” (too fatty, too salty, too processed!). I was just looking at the label of a package and so wanted to buy some! I find other, non-fattening foods that are “safe” for ME!
Chicken tenders, of course only certain kinds tho
I’m undiagnosed (assessments to be held in February) but I’ve always been confused when people say foods like French fries, pizza, Mac and cheese are their “safe foods”. I’ve been in eating disorder treatment and those three options are so variable it’s hard to not feel anxious before going to a restaurant not knowing if they have crunchy or soggy fries. For me personally the consistency of what type of food I’m getting is more the priority over taste. I’ll order a pasta or rice and know those are universally cooked the same and sauces are very similar if I stick to a basic kind. I’ve just always found those quick foods so interesting to have as safe since the variable of how it’s prepared changes my experience eating so much.
I'm autistic and don't really have any issues with food, I'll eat just about anything. I do tend to eat similar stuff over and over though, and I hated the texture of most kinds of meat when I was a kid. Now I don't really mind it though.
I've been a vegetation for 28 years, and I've got lots of reasons. But one thing that used to drive my family crazy about my vegetarianism is that I am disgusted by meat. I will not cook it, touch it, pick up a container of it, or wash dishes that had it. Luckily, my sister was usually okay with letting me have dish drying duty.
I have no apologies about this. In fact, I still can't understand why anyone would be okay with having dead animals around their actual food.
BUT it JUST occurred to me that it might be connected with autism??? I still don't think it's pathological. I still think I'm right 😅 But maybe it's an autism thing?
Belvitas are my safe food
Semolina pasta (specifically) white rice, banana. Hate to tell this truth , I'm into beige food too😅
I'm not sure what my safe foods are, but I do know what I don't like. Jalapenos, bananas (especially bruised ones), milk chocolate (unless there's something inside of it), any colorful cereal, and breading unless it's really thin.
Salsbury steak and angel hair pasta
Cheerios. Must be actual Cheerios though because it has the correct texture.
I love how she added in almost always because some ways that people make my safe food no longer make it safe. Like one of mine is chicken. I can eat chicken nuggets, chicken strips, chicken wings, chicken Brest, but if it’s not cooked right then I can’t eat it. Like I can’t have chicken spaghetti. The texture makes me gag, and I don’t like it when chicken in baked in sauce in a dish because then it’s all wet and gross and just yuck. I prefer my chicken to be dry and crunchy on the outside, maybe sticky from a sauce but juicy on the inside. Also I prefer it if I can eat my chicken with my fingers. The more I think about my safe foods the more I realize that they are things I can eat with my hands because it uses up less mental effort and energy to eat that way. Chicken becomes less safe if I have to use a knife and fork. Rather just go at it with my hands.
Bean burritos is mine. My husband literally asked me one day if I could think of something else because he was tired of them. 😂😂
Omg anything potato, but French fried and potato chips are my fave.
Wow so this is why I eat the way I do! I literally eat the same thing over and over and over again for months sometimes then switch to another safe food!
Or meal replacement shakes in general
For a while now my most common meals are chicken nuggets I can throw in the air fryer (Morning Star Farms is the best) veggie tots (bit those aren't always in store) 90sec microwave rice with some hot sauce and certain soups
