Working On All The Things: Starting A Furniture Makeover & Resetting My Booth for The New Year

Going to see how much I can get done um this piece I am doing behind me is a buffet that I picked up from an estate sale and I really want to have it ready as soon as as possible to bring down to my booth that I have so what I really

Would like to get accomplished today fingers crossed is sand down the top of this because I do want to stain it I want to give a good scuff sand to the bottom here and then I want to be able to get it primed today before I paint I

Am torn on two colors so I think you guys are going to have to help me uh we’ll see how far I can get today like I said so let’s get started by sanding this piece down I never really know what’s going on look at me sometimes like all you want to do is run hear me out heit me out all the things you never show you There all right so that took a lot less time to sand the top down completely um I thought it was going to take a lot longer I think it took me about like 20 minutes which is awesome cuz I thought this was going to be a lot more um

Indepth so came off super easy really happy happy um so now all I have to do is scuff sand the base I’m just going to use like 180 grit on the base to give it a good scuff sand because it’s so shiny so it definitely needs a good scuff sand

For the primer and for the paint to adhere to and talking about the paint I am torn between two colors um they’re both Dixie Bell chalk paint the first one is French linen it’s a really pretty like neutral beige and then then the other one is what was this one weeping

Willow and it’s this nice like soft green so I’m really torn on which one um let me know in the comments which one you guys think would look best I am going to be staining the top um more of like a like a medium brown I’m not going to

Go super dark and I don’t want to go super light either so definitely more of like a medium brown which I think will complement both so that’s why I’m kind of torn on what to do um color-wise so let me know what you guys would pick if

You were doing this piece or what you would like to have in your house definitely let me know in the Comments N Okay so I know I said that this part took me like no time at all but to get everything scuff sanded the hardware off the drawers sanded um it took a lot longer than I planned and I also cleaned it so now I’m going to go run to the

Store I need to get either um a shellac or a zenzer primer I’m not sure which one I’m going to get because this will bleed through no matter which color I pick so I want to make sure I prime it really well so I’m going to go to the

Store for that I’m still torn on the these two colors so I did a poll on my Instagram page woodwine and crafts as well as my Facebook page um if you are not following me you can follow me on either one of those if you want I do

Have polls going for both of them and so so far on Instagram the French linen is winning by a lot um and on Facebook the green is winning so I’m really curious what is going to be the final color so I’m going to run to the hardware store and then I’ll be Back A Good morning everyone it is the next day so yesterday I did get what I wanted accomplished I got the piece primed I sanded it down so it’s ready for paint and I’ve brought it inside um it is a much cooler day today in Florida and I wanted to share that the winning color

Um was French linen so I’m going to go ahead and get one coat of the French Linen on this piece and let it dry I do have another piece that I’m going to try the green on but that’ll be later um I’m not focused on that one right now I

Really do want to use that green but I think it’ll be better on a smaller piece um and I’m going to do the French Linen on this one so I’m going to get everything ready that I need I’ve got a paint roller I’ve got my paintbrush um

To rearrange bring some new pieces in um assess how this Buffet is going to fit down there when I bring it next weekend um I did sell a piece of furniture so my space is looking kind of bare I’m assuming it’s been a while since I’ve been there because I’ve been sick and

With the holidays so I’m going to be down there for a little bit so we’re going to get all this stuff ready put it into boxes and then we’re going to head down to my Booth I never really know what’s going on look at me like all you want to do is Runar me out hit me out in all the things you show there are the things I want you know secret sty in your heart slow but if you don’t want to tell me

Now I guess I never know losing almost all my energy it’s getting hard to talk to you and I’m the only one who speaks it’s all the You okay for those that remember I was going to be moving my booth space um December first and I decided not to do that because the 8ft wall that that was on the left side of here um was going to be coming down at the end of December

Because the vendors decided to move out so this is on January 2nd and it is so much more open now I mean minus the fact that you can see all the Christmas stuff that is left over in my booth um the space itself just seems bigger and that

Is what I was trying to accomplish by by moving my space in the first place so I’m really happy with how open it looks now there will be vendors that will be filling in those spaces but no more walls like that will be going up so I’m

Really looking forward to this next year um in my booth space so I’m going to be taking down all of the Christmas stuff I may leave a couple red things up that are more neutral for Valentine’s Day but I’m going to pack up as much Christmas

Stuff as possible get it out of my booth and then I’m going to re arrange a little bit as well as add those items that I brought down with Me I want you know secret I want to take this time and wish everyone a very happy new year and to thank everyone that has supported me over this past year and a half almost 2 years actually my two years on YouTube comes up in March so I really want to

Thank everybody who has supported me through any part of this journey um I did want to go over a couple things um what to expect for my channel this year um I have done a lot of reflecting and with my work schedule um I think it’s

Going to be better if I try to do um videos that are every two weeks instead of every week um I just want to make sure that I am giving the best videos as possible and if I don’t feel inspired I don’t want to force myself to make

Anything because I’m just not going to be happy to make something and then it’s just not going to turn out like I want and I want to make sure that what I’m sharing with everybody um you know hopefully inspires them to make something as well um get their creative

Juices going so I think I may be cutting back from every week to every two weeks I’m not sure I will definitely keep you posted in the community tab if that does happen um I may not have a video next week um just got to figure some things

Out I’m also about to do a really big master bedroom makeover I have set our bedroom on the back burner for far too long and I’m really excited about this makeover in our bedroom so I will be incorporating that into some videos so if that is something you’re interested
