We have just had a very long day which I’m about to show to you those of you who saw last night’s video will know that we got stranded last night in Cal because darling little lelot hadn’t had his deworming treatment over 24 hours before Crossing into the UK and we
Didn’t realize that he had to have that so it meant that we had to stay in the north of France for a full 24 hours before being allowed back onto the train and then during the day there was all sorts of excitement because the Euro tunnel was stopped all together because
It was flooding in one of the tunnels and so we were so worried but thankfully it did not affect the shuttle that’s the one where you actually drive the car onto the train to go through so well I I won’t tell you anymore but I will go
Back to this morning when we thought what’s the best thing we can do with an unexpected day in the north of France and of course we found a crystal Factory shop as we’re in the north of France unexpectedly for an extra day we’ve come to the cyle dark Factory shop can’t
Believe we’ve never been here before Cal dark you might all have heard of and in America you might know under the name Lon and that’s because they are a huge global company they were a small family run Crystal Company who started in 1825 but they hit Global Fame when in
The 60s they developed the first method for making lead crystal automatically lead crystal glasses just automating the whole process and I’m sure you’re going to recognize it if I show you the glasses they created their Lan design you will see these all over the place I
Grew up with these my parents had them many of your parents may have had them maybe you had them they were the first really affordable lead crystal that people could buy for their own homes and you’ll also probably have seen them in almost every period production where they needed crystal glasses where in
Fact they’re completely out of place because they weren’t made until the’ 60s nevertheless they’re constantly used as props in Period movies from way before the 60s this is bringing back my childhood to me they’re pretty they’re Timeless they’re still sold massively around the world today this is making me
So nostalgic these are the water glasses I had at home I you like these I like them too yeah so they also do very simple Crystal ones now very elegant much more modern we do love a factory shop don’t we oh I love a good Factory
Shop and over here this is actually one of my favorite sets that they do Vivan Simon have them as their kitchen set and look that that is just gorgeous bit more modern yeah I mean it’s incredible the different amounts the patterns and designs that they still make and it’s just so much more
Affordable than any other Crystal especially the shop for example in this set for six white wine glasses the normal price is 4650 and in the outlet it’s $27.90 not bad for six crystal glasses in 2008 a international the company that own Crystal created a new line that
You’ve almost certainly heard of too and it’s Chef is and they make specialized wine glasses for different types of wines so glasses that are good with mature wines or with younger Wines in so many different shapes and sizes they go in the dishwasher and they’re used a lot
In bars and restaurants around the world they’ve become quite iconic I mean this is their reveal up intense this works for both young wines and mature wines and they’re a real bargain cuz here again they’re reduced from 4680 to 2790 there six glasses but if you buy two
Boxes you get 50% off the second box is not sponsored by the way no I’m just having a fantastic time uh we don’t actually need any wine glasses but never mind Still Loving looking I think I’ve uh I’ve filled that Gap you have as a
Child of the 70s this is just so iconic for me is like walking into it is a bit like walking into M or walking into my childhood these s of Pyrex Style with little patterns on them so GI is a little Museum section because they also make the brand lumac that started in
The’ 40s that we’ve got so many glasses of because they’re always coming up at the local charity shops you might recognize this color from the pink glasses we have in the kitchen they’re lumac and we’re just recognizing lots and lots of things you actually have
That jug for that I did but I think it broke you see those little stripy bowls at the back it had little glasses like that but I think we sent them to imay and also we had some of these some of those they’ve also gone to imuse but
This is Nostalgia City here I love this section and you can see how Cutting Edge the stying was for those days that was not a crystal D no but it’s true look they were really ahead of their time always pushing the boundaries I like the little Christmas decas from the
1950s oh my goodness we have just entered a Wonderland of kitchen equipment I think I better found Marie you and lelot found something oh these are good so I want to get rid of the Ikea glass we’ve got in the kitchen yes a lot them have broken over the years as
Well I know well we use them all the time every day and these are bigger which I like they’re nearly a half price here €2 each 2240 each okay that’s okay yes and this is the Marie Hall well except for these these are for and NTI oh yeah 1664 glasses that’s what Emory
Usually drinks we went crazy uh € each no one tell Emory that was the price okay this we phon Marie as soon as we saw the head K asked exactly what we need for the Kitchener she’s been looking yes she needs that and also this is so good for storage because they all
Slot into each other and then there a handle that just transferred whichever one you want to use at the time and these we really and reusable piping bags and a couple of Lids so Maria is going to be very very happy and it’s all half
Price so I am delighted as well oh yes and the two Pirates Al dishes that we needed okay not the most exciting thing in the world but just to let everyone know what we’re getting for the kitchen I can’t believe we came here to look for Crystal and we’ve ended up buying
Saucein sauce and um daping bags we have just driven all the way back to your channel for take two hey Lancelot do you reckon you’re going to be banned from the UK again will we get in well this is it it’s like a miracle we are finally
Getting onto the train I thought it would never happen because they said it was fine for lot to go tonight but that we couldn’t get the crossing until 1 a.m. we are in the top section which you’ve never been and we’re going to be the very first ones because who else
Would travel at this time of night it makes no sense we are so exhausted but it looks as though we will make it to London in time for New Year’s Eve I was beginning to think it would never happen so it’s now 2:00 in France
But it is only 1:00 in England we have gained an entire luxurious hour so we’ll be in bed by 3 UK time or three fronts of French time UK time four French Time by four French time we’re in bed asleep lovely early night just in time to wake
Up tomorrow and get ready for New Year’s Eve oh my very exciting friends we’re shattered but we’re home and whilst I was unpacking in the bedroom Philip was lighting candles and putting the beautiful flowers we got just at the supermarket in France before Crossing up
On the mantle piece and next to the sofa where he’s plumped up all the cushions it’s the first thing he does when we get here and we decided we’re not going to bed straight away defeated by the journey no we’re having the thing I’ve been looking forward to all along fish
And chips so I’ve arranged a beautiful table for it the Flat’s way too small for a d dining table so we have a little coffee table that we eat at and whenever Philip finds charity shop buys where aren’t enough for laand he brings them here so these are two glasses he found
At the local charity shop in France and today he got water glasses in a really similar green to go with them so we’re already trying our new €40 Lumin glasses just missing the wine in the fish and chips the fish and chips have reach the plate though I think I’m going to keep
It on the plate but in the Box because it keeps it a little bit warmer we have have wine have you seen how well the color matches these glasses that’s because I bought these there were only two at the charity shop at mius and there were €1 each only two and this is
Also vintage luminar so they just kept the original col I didn’t realize that they were luminar as well okay perfect so goes well together and I I love that they kept the original colors whilst we’re eating C at the shadow is uploading after that I’ll be making
Tonight’s video so I’m sorry it will have gone out so so late it’s the last had at the shadow ever it’s over 2 hours long I can’t imagine how much footage that you had to look through go so we are going to watch Endeavor now we’re so nearly there we’re on the penultimate
Series have our fish and chips and then upload those videos so I’m sorry about oh hello hello oh hello oh my goodness thank you so much for the kiss tomorrow night’s video will also be out very late because I want to show you a little bit of our New Year celebration the exciting
People that we’re having New Year’s Eve with there someone I’m sure you’ll be very very happy to see and until then have a fabulous last day of the year we’re going to have fish and chips in a movie night everyone and AD a Man

Thank you all for the wonderful entertainment ❤
Happy New Year to all you beautiful people of Chateau de la Lande. May you all have a happy and prosperous year ahead.
Ophelia from Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
Well I don't know about being in a museum, but most of those glasses live in my dining room cabinet and the cooking dishes live in my kitchen cupboards. I must make a trip to that factory soon, just so I can update my collection. Probably go on the ferry though as the tunnel is getting unreliable. Glad to see you made it to the UK. 🙂🍷
Happy New Year!
You made it. Even though you had a bump in the road you managed to enjoy the entire journey and made the most of it in typical Stephanie style. That was fun to watch. Happy New Year to you all. Enjoy your trip. I love Lancelot, it is as if he was created just for you and Philip.
Hello from PEI Canada. The glass shop was very exciting , I would spend so much money there.
Happy New Year! Glad you finally got to the UK! Nothing gets you down though! You make the best of every moment, whether it’s planned or not! 2024 is going to be EPIC! Health and happiness to all Laplanders and yourselves of course. ❤🎉

Happy safe abd new year ❤❤
I sold my lead crystal glasses bc of the 'safety' factor .. some say unsafe others say differently = decided not to take any chances.
Thx for sharing inspite of your tiredness. 😊
Happy New Year!! Many blessings for the best to yet come!
Sweet trip. Happy New Year!
my Canadian mind is wondering, how do they get fish and chips at 4am?
I love Lancelot…poor puppy WORM medicine, my Lord!
I wanted to ask…if this is too big of an ask just tell me. I am in Minnesota. I have looked and looked for that song you played when you imitated Dan after he mocked your original opening. Also, when you and Percy set-up that cage for the chick's to be outside for the first time. What is that french music you chose? I have heard it before and love that one…what is it called? Can't say we hear it in MN except in a movie or your diaries. Or, maybe another fan knows?
Rewatching several of your episodes in New Years prep, cooking…ugh…

Thanks.
Happy New Year 🎇.
Happy #NYE !! What type of breed is Lancelot? I have a puppy that looks just like him named Caramel but she is a barking riot, part chihuahua part jack Russell. I thought I adopted the quietest one in the lot but she has really started to find her voice these last few months.
Happy New Year!!🎊 🎉🍾💕
that's the spirit !! Enjoy your time in London XX
Happy New Year 2024 to all the LaLanders! Looking forward to the continuing adventures 💃🏼🕺🏻🥂🍾🎉🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️

😊 I still have some of those 😅
I am like Phillip, I love Krystal, I just don’t have enough space in my cabinets to store them all 🥹🙄.
My days of entertaining big meals are gone. I really need a Château 😁
How did you get fish and chips in the middle of the night?😳
ohhh a high speed train going into a third world island, ooppss weldone
Good thing you left couple days early. I want to know about the kool lamp behind Stephanie😊
I just learned where all the crystal water, champagne, and whiskey glasses I bought at my local thrift shop over the past few years are called and come from. Thank you! Also, next time you drive through the north of France, if you wish to drop by the Vimy, Beaumont-Hamel memorials, let me know.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's good fun to get excited about a crystal shop and I found out, through you, that my pink glasses from Emaus are Luminac, which makes me excited too. Thank you, Swan
4:21 I recognise those stripped glasses from visiting relatives as a young child. I think it was at my grandparents home.
Yes I still have some of those crystals (In the shed). 40 odd years ago wedding presents. That shop brings back memories. Xx
I'm amazed you can get fish and chips at 3am!
Most modern glassware doesn't contain lead.
Safer to use that.
Lead Crystal isn't really Crystal. It's regular glass mixed with lead Oxide and shouldn't be used regularly to drink from. Lead leaching will happen. Especially if the liquid sits in it for awhile. Example: Never use lead crystal decanters to hold liquid such as wine.
If you pour wine directly from a bottle into a crystal glass and drink it relatively fast. The lead leaching into that wine will be minimal. However no amount of lead consumption is actually safe.
Acidic foods and beverages such as pickles, fruit juices, soft drinks, wine and port increase the amount of lead released. With less acidic foods and beverages, such as cheese, nuts, milk, scotch and vodka, less lead is released. The risk of lead release is lower if the crystalware is only used over the course of a meal. Tests show that the amount of lead in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages when consumed from a crystal glass during a meal is usually well below 0.2 parts per million, the maximum lead concentration allowed in food and beverages in Canada. That allowable amout might be different where you live.
However, lead concentrations of up to 20 parts per million – 100 times higher than the Canadian limit – have been found in wines kept for weeks in crystal decanters.
Lead that is absorbed into your body travels in the blood to soft tissues such as the brain, liver and kidneys. After several weeks, any lead that has not been eliminated from your body is stored in your bones and teeth, where it can remain for decades.
Sorry to be a downer.
Have a Happy New Year 🍷🎊🍷💞
Where did you get fish and chips in London in the early hours?! I've finally nearly caught up…
Happy New Year🎉 XX
my mom has those popular crystal glasses.
that's a wonderful store you're at.
