  1. True on the quality of French fries today – try green beans – a little butter and salt – better nutritiously and a little crunchy to enjoy.

  2. 100% When I order fries I always ask for them to be well done so they fry them for a min or two longer. Dramatically improves the flavor and texture

  3. They used to use lard. Now they use vegetable oils. Oddly enough, potatoes fried in vegetable oil absorb more of the grease. Probably vegetarians behind this!! Lol

  5. The original McDonald's fries cooked in BEEF TALLOW were the only fries EVER worth eating, for sure. They have to be nice and salty. My childhood was made Magical 💫 because of those fries and burgers. The burgers were nice and juicy and fresh tasting, as well. It was heaven 😍…..We had seven kids and our Mother had to order massive quantities! It was awesome 😊……I haven't eaten their food in many years because it became so terrible, however!

  6. Someone explain to me what the deal is with leaving the peel on!! Wendy's & Sonic both started this a few years ago & it's AWFUL! Those are Home Fries, NOT French Fries!! 🚫🍟

  7. the issue is the oil that are cooked in.. Veg oil or shortening cooked fries are bland and tasteless and just gross once they start to cool off. Fries cooked in Beef Tallow are AWESOME.

    The other issue is they don't put near enough salt on them anymore.. or they wait to long to put it on.. salt the fries while they are still fresh and dripping from being cooked and don't skimp.. you should see the salt crystals on the fries.

  8. They changed the oil. Changed the hydrogenated veg oil out. Bring back lard and the fries will be awesome and you will live longer.

  9. Beef tallow. Stupid whiney foodies complain about restaurants using beef tallow. And then FF's turn to crap.

  10. They changed the frying oil in most restaurants, especially at fast food places. That completely changed the taste.

  11. Standards in the western world are going off a cliff let alone the quality of chips, under American cultural poison over the last 80 years.

  12. They used to use animal fats to fry good chips as we brits call them. Now it’s all poncey vegan shite it has ruined French fries.

  13. McDonald's used to add beef tallow to the fry oil, which made them the best tasting. It's the oil! The worse it is for you, the better it tastes. Fry French fries in lard or butter.
