Surprise…! The water heater quits and needs to be replaced. Michael also fixes the threshold and cleans out the freezer before preparing our little stone house chateau to be locked up and left.

This tree is crazy look at the thorns on that thing yeah essentially is this tree here which is a beautiful tree I love how it glows in the sunshine imagine it’s going to really be pretty when it starts to change colors boy does it come with some consequences the garden’s looking pretty
Good all the wild strawberries grass of course could use some work but that’ll have to wait nice well let’s let the fun begin this right here there’s a French style water heater happens to be about I think it’s about 10 years old best I can tell and it’s
German but what happened was it seems like some of the wires were corroded possibly the core cuz it’s leaking and it stopped working this morning or sometime before this morning when I attended to take a nice warm shower so time to take the water heater out turn the water
On and the water heater everything seems to be working really well all right this is kind of silly kind of annoying this faucet just a standard little faucet won’t stop leaking unless I turn the main off there’s another valve so it will shut itself off to the water
Heater talk about a little bit of like annoying panic and the rest of these bricks have already been sort of glued in place once I glued them in place again over the cracks some high strength epoxy I’m going to go over here take this water heater and put it on the mount Hopefully one thing that’s kind of fun here in France trying out new foods this here is brunch has some sort of basil and cheese tart it probably has some egg in it as well see how it turns out this turned out to be pretty good nice little
Runch beautiful day is it perfect got a little drain pipe to finish and I also need to get the water cleaned up but there we have it voila we have power and it’s supposedly it’s heating so there we have it only thing I have left
To do is got to get a longer one of these CU it goes into a little hole here this pipe right here goes into this hole it’s a drain of some sort but seems to be working it’s a 40 L instead of a 30 L of
Course it’s more modern so turn it up a little bit and see what happens so there we have it well add this to the list of projects completed I built up the threshold mortar and it’s essentially a block Critters from getting under the door so as you can see
There’s a pretty big cap under the door and that’s essentially been eliminated so one more project completed it’s much like this threshold was also done the same Way [Applause] Well good morning again one of the most difficult uh things that we’re going to be faced with leaving our home secondary home here in France for upwards of about three months is um closing it down and having it be a lock up and leave and with ston houses
What I’m told is that moisture is a problem and um and moisture and odor you know may become a serious problem and so what the previous owners did is they used these Arrow 360 tabs and they essentially load into these little devices here and you close them up and put them
Throughout the house and I have at least 10 of them I’m going to load them all up and put them throughout the house and try to control the humidity the box here essenti essentially says that the the um Tabs are for anti-humidity and anti-odor control so hopefully we
Can control the odor and humidity with these tabs they also say they’ll last up to three months so we’ll see what happens um when we return wish me luck well today for lunch I’m having some French frozen meal that I thought looked interesting looks like it has little
Cabbages um ham and cheese it’s kind of more of a vegal sauce it’s actually pretty good ham wrapped cabbages you can see little cabbage in there whatever it is I’m not exactly sure but it tastes pretty good there’s oven going off all Right [Applause] [Applause] He
