These soft, buttery cake like French cookies are soooo good. I can’t say enough good things about this cookie. My granny flew across the country to visit my family for Christmas one year, and I made a fresh batch of these delicious cookies EVERY morning just for her! Yes! Every morning!! My granny is getting up there in age, and since she flew thousands of miles to spend the holidays with me and my family, I thought I’d treat her to her current favorite treat which just happens to be these madeleine cookies! They’re also great dunked in coffee, which is my favorite way to eat them. Let me know in the comments if you dunk yours in coffee too!

Instructions:
2/3 cup sugar
3 eggs, room temp
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
a dash of salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
10 tablespoons of melted butter
powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
melted chocolate for dipping (optional)
Directions:
Cream together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and salt. Do this for 5 – 7 minutes until the batter doubles in size and is pale in color.
Sift in the flour and gently fold it into the batter.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter and let it cool a bit before gradually adding it into the bowl while folding the flour.
Cover and let the batter chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
After an hour in the fridge, spray your madeleine pan with non-stick cooking spray. Take a generous tablespoon’s worth and spoon it into each well.
Into the oven at 350 degrees for 10 – 12 minutes or until the edges are a light golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Dust your cookies with powdered sugar or dip them in melted chocolate and enjoy!

Today we’re making these delicious almost cake-like cookies called madeleines to a bowl we’re gonna add in two-thirds cup of sugar three eggs at room temperature and one and a half teaspoons of vanilla extract we’re also going to add in just a dash of salt we’re going to mix this on high speed
Until our batter doubles in volume and looks pale in color that looks about right next we’re going to sift one cup of all-purpose flour into our bowl Before we fold in our flour we’re going to melt 10 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl let your butter cool for just a few minutes before adding to the batter gradually add in the melted butter as you’re folding in the flour and since i’m all out of saran wrap i’m

Discovered any other way to make this less messy i probably should have looked harder for my cookie scooper which is somewhere in my house on an adventure into the oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes i took mine out right at the 10-minute mark you’ll know they’re done
When you notice the edges are lightly golden brown just like this we’re going to transfer these to a wire rack to cool this is not a make or break step for these cookies people enjoy these cookies with just a light dusting of powdered sugar and call it a day this step will
Not make or break these cookies some people enjoy them with just a light dusting of powdered sugar and that’s it but today i’m going to dip mine in some melted chocolate i’m not going to dip the entire cookie just a small section like so if you’re going to dip your cookies in
Chocolate place them on a sheet of parchment paper to dry if you’re pressed for time you can pop them in the fridge for just a few minutes to help the chocolate set if you’re interested in this recipe i will insert an ingredients list right here If you plan on boxing up your cookies be sure to place a piece of parchment between each layer otherwise they can sort of stick to each other thanks for watching and if you like this video i hope you give it a thumbs up don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t
