When you walk into a cheese shop in France it’s really overwhelming but all I want is a yummy cheese to go with a glass of wine so in this video we’ll take you to a typical French cheese shop we’ll ask some questions and try some cheese and then we’ll get some bread to
Go with it and we’ll meet with Vincent our favorite food snob to try them all together Ali Ona and our first stop is the ferie frin which is a French slang that means Brother come on Victor exact so the first thing I notice when I’m coming in here is there’s a lot of
Ret cheese which is a winter cheese so I can see already this is going to be a seasonal conversation so help me pick maybe six cheeses that are great if I want to put together a plate to go like on a picnic or take back to my hotel or
Just to enjoy that with some wine and bread okay let’s go what you suggest me I will go to the buff perform same family little bit more melty fruy tasty after if you want like a sun hard I really like one because I come from this
Place okay it’s San San is like amazing you can eat everything the Rind is really important in this cheese and you have a little bit the taste of you can see it’s still like hard but you see it’s a bit more creamy got it ous and you taste the
Mushrooms uh the the cream the the milk after uh we can go on the blue cheese blue cheese is really important in France if you want like the most famous cheese in France blue you have the rock for but me I really like the RO for cow because it’s little bit more intense
Salty a little bit creamy really nice I’m going to take some o because I want something lighter yeah after we can go on the ship meal for me definitely for the ship you have to take an aoral because it’s a really classic one with a cherry jam all the queen spacee and
Queen space can go with the blue and theat what is the Queen the queen paste Queen spast it’s the fruit paste fruit between pier and hle but it’s like a a paste gem yeah exactly okay we have four I need two more we can go on a go cheese
And for me you have to take definitely a creamy go cheese okay let’s go like a nice specialty here we made the go cheese from soua France you’re going to see man only cream and we had a little bit of olive oil and herbs on the top I
Think that a Brie with truffle is the way to go that would wrap this up now let’s go get some bread to go with the Cheese now we’ve got some cheese and some bread let’s go get some wine with Vincent and eat this stuff hello oh so Vincent yeah I got six different cheeses I got a s I got a some kind of a soft goat cheese yes that’s good I got a
Bree with truffle wow I got a a blue cheese from a I got a bord it should be delicious uhhuh did I choose good cheese to go with champagne oh yes yes everything goes with champagne yes she’s absolutely right that’s going to be just perfect this is Bri natural pinoir uh I
Think we’re going to choice shab shab this is Iconic this is very very very good with a cheese maybe I’m going to Choice something a little bit older of one year it’s 2019 okay so this wine is already 4 years old I’m happy to try something new
I’m going to learn something else I think Antoine will love it and because we have a relationship with Veno sapiens we got our wine here and Vincent does his wine tasting next door so we’re going to go over here and have this stuff come on so we got six different cheeses and
Three types of bread and let me show you what we got this one here is a goat cheese with olive oil and Herb this one is a bordt which is kind of like a compte it’s a hard press cooked cheese this one is a truffle Bree oh my God
That looks so yummy you can see the truffles on top that’s just looks fabulous yeah this one is Oo irati we have a blue cheese from W yes this one is a s nect and then we got this a paste from a fruit that’s somewhere between an
Apple and a pear and then we got a couple of different breads um this is a traditional baguette with uh grains multigrain baguette which is the one antoana and I eat at home all the time this one is a a kind of a cereal bread with some nuts and different kind of a
Flour in there and this one is a country bread that’s made with granolas so there’s some raisins and nuts and all kinds of things and I think that’s probably going to go good with some of the cheeses oh yeah look my mouth is watering as you’re saying that can we
Eat some cheese now no you film we eat it works like that no no no no no no that’s not how this works Cheers Cheers wine tasting oh yeah this is good I’m going to like that try we’re starting with the buffal which actually this is a
Cheese for a picnic so this is a bofer cheese which is a cooked pressed cow’s milk cheese and this is similar to the comp but I know the comp and I wanted to try a new one it should be you know a little bit light and a little bit mild
Flavor because it’s the summer cheese so let’s try a bite and and T smell it first do at this close your eyes oh W I’m I’m checking out the cheese like wine you know and then you feel you feel you are in the middle of
The mountain it does it feels a little a little bit flowery and buttery so and of course what’s interesting is this one sometimes when you get an older cheese like the older cooked pressed cheese it gets a little bit grainy this one is not just really a smooth buttery nice cheese
Well I know a lot of people especially a lot of American people who are concerned that the taste of the cheese will be overpowering this is not an overpowering cheese at all you know it’s a it’s it’s easy it has personality it has flavor but it’s a a mild flavor it’s um you
Know it tastes floral buttery it’s a little bit salty a little bit sweet it’s an easy cheese to eat I think it’s good for anybody it’s not a cheese you need to be worried About it’s very smooth it’s very buttery yeah so this combination this Burgundy wine this buou and a baguette I’m telling you that so this is the oati and we’re staying with red wine and we have a little bit of the commus paste CU we’re going to take a little bit of
Cheese this one has a very distinct flavor there a combination of the cheese and the fruit and the bread it brings it a certain flavor but I want to try just the cheese with a little bit of wine it’s saltier it’s sharper this is
The one in the store he told us it’s a little bit like Mano but it’s not exactly like the manuno it’s Mano with a little bit of Personality yeah and it’s um it’s a very nice a very distinct cheese I wouldn’t give that one to kids maybe it’s a very nice full flavored
Piece of cheese and I bet it goes great with the red that’s nice yeah it’s a lot more neutral in the taste I would say the buffal is a little bit A Step Above in terms of taste uh it’s a little bit more granular it’s not
As smooth as the buffo it’s a very nice cheese let me try it with the with the taste I think that maybe that’s the a perfect cheese with that little sweet taste here and I think that the combination of that plus that and another piece of bread will be
Amazing oh yeah you’re buying this one with that little fruit paste and it changes everything cuz the the cheese by itself is okay I mean it’s not bad it’s it’s a very good cheese but it just lacks personality but then you put a little of fruit taste and then you try a
Burgundy one with that I’m sure it goes great together this one is really good I like it I think today there’s a lot of industrial kinds of truffles or they just add a little bit of oil and call it truffle but the difference here is that
This is actual Truffle in the cheese you can even see with the Truffle on top this should be the real deal so I know in the ballonger that I go to at home they have a a thick bread like this with some with figs and some with walnuts and different kinds of
Things so yeah and uh and I haven’t had the granola one it looks like that same kind of good hearty bread oh yeah the fact is this is a last piece of bread the traditional bread you know like we had in the past from the Medieval Age
This big this high and you can keep the fresh bread uh for many days M with the baguette the baguette is fresh today tomorrow the baguette is dead that’s why the friends go every single day to buy the new baguette okay but with this bread you keep the fresh bread many many
Days and something that’s funny with that is it’s a huge loaf of bread and you just tell them I want this much I want this much I want this much and they cut just the part of the loaf that you want that’s fun so let’s try this one
Too soft just to pick it up and eat alone oh I understand why that goes with champagne it’s like delicate and Hardy at the same time yeah yeah we we had to switch to Champagne to go with this I don’t want to have a red wine overpower my Brie with
Truffles I’m getting to be a snob maybe like I am yeah tastes like it needs champagne see so I’m not a huge Brie fan this is not a cheese that I go to I am much more into con and cooked cheese but I can appreciate the artisanal product uh when I see One is that delicate oh no there this is good this is absolutely excellent I’ve bought truffle Brie in a grocery store before I know it’s criminal but I’ve done it yeah it doesn’t taste anything like that nothing like that this is why when you’re in France you can buy cheese
On a super market and it’s going to look fancy and it’s going to look great but I’m telling you you’re much better off going to a small from like the one we went to and they’re all over Paris and the reason why is because these guys are buying cheese from small farms right
Right the the supermarket is buying industrial cheese because they’re making it for the masses so they’re different in taste with a a Bree with truffle from a that buys it from a local Farm it’s just a world of difference I mean it’s it’s not even comparable oh this is good
I would definitely have that again definitely champagne and cheese is perfect together it’s easy to get tipsy when you drink and eat cheese but now we’re moving on to the S nectar it’s a pretty soft kind of a cheese and we’re going to try it with this grain bread Pand so I’m
Just going to take a little bit I tasted a lot of the nuts from the bread so I want to have some cheese alone oh that that’s really a mild buttery cheese it’s almost like a I would be sacr to say it’s like a cream
Cheese but it has a kind of a a flavor of a cream cheese with a texture that’s more firm and and pliable but it’s very mild very easy to go with anything and now I’m going to try it with the paste yeah to give some Pew some sweet and you
Can be back with the red wine if you want to you can continue with the champagne or red wine so here I’m going to try it with a little bit of the fruit paste it all compliments each other yeah exactly because I have all the red
Fruits in here and the other fruits in here with the cheese I’m happy having a whole meal of cheese and bread and wine I’m going to do something special this say of wi off 2019 and I’m going to use this this is the key of wine this is
Something some kind of of secret you know if I put this in my wine every 1 second I win one so if I do this so if that’s a 2019 it’s 2018 2 17 3 16 4 I already win four years okay so I know exactly what the taste of this one will
Be in 5 years it tastes it tastes different tastes more mild how come I don’t have one of those well one two two three is this a joke it tastes this is not at all a joke and the Wine’s getting better it’s a lot smoother yeah it’s fruity and peppery
And it tastes a lot more mild so I’m going to try the one without the magic stick okay so I got that now I take this wine key here and I did that in my wine let’s do it for five one two 3 4 5 okay now I’m going to now I’m going
To try the wine wow what the that’s my question the the sharp edge of the wine is gone what is this thing what I could taste the difference between before and after was felt like the sharp edges of the one was gone like the one was smoother and did
You taste a difference I tasted a difference definitely it was a lot smoother like you said yeah it just did smoother and we’re going to put a link in the description below but my brother is a food and wine snub and I don’t know
Him to be a guy that’s going to be uh tricked by gimmicks and I have zero affiliation or attachment or this is not sponsored by this stick it’s just Vincent pulled this out of his bag of tricks that make a great gift yeah it’s a great gift for a wine kisser pretty
Remarkable it’s pretty remarkable yeah thank you so this one is the goat cheese with olive oil and herbs and it’s very messy maybe not the best choice for a picnic the guy in the cheese store said that he gives a little knife it comes in
A little plastic uh tub I would get it if you’re going to eat it all but check that out oh man that looks yummy goat cheese is usually something that people are nervous about because it’s very sharp and it has a different texture and stuff this is creamy like a Brie it has
Just a a different flavor obviously it’s very nice want to have some something with that maybe let’s just start with a little white wine a little shabi so you’re having the shab now I’m having a CH cuz I have a drinking problem apparently I go red I go champagne I go
CH I think I’m fine it’s only when I’m with Vincent that I drink too much yeah there’s a light fruity Citrus thing with this and I wanted fruit with that and and who needs grapes and apples and fruit if you can drink your grapes I’m not usually a white wine person but
That goes perfectly with this and this last bite that I got like the first bite was creamy and delicious and everything the second bite I took I could taste the olive oil and the herbs it’s way better with the olive oil and the herbs if you
Ask me and to have that together with the chy it was just Extraordinary you’re going to like that look at this oh yeah see This this is what we say in France which means a little Jesus and a velvet underwear don’t ask me why French p people are weird but when you say that if you say it’s it’s little Jesus in a velvet underwear it’s the sweetest thing
You can have oh this is so good oh good B oh yeah the goat and this is perfect now we’re going to try a blue cheese and this is a blue from o towards the south central part of France where they have all of the volcanoes like 90 volcanoes and that should be a delicious cheese
This blue cheese from W is a lot milder there is different levels of sharpness in um you know and in the the powerful uh flavor of the blue cheese the ovar is a more mild one more mild than the roer yeah because I’m a colorful character I
Like blue cheese with red wine all right so we have Terry the uh the owner of Ven sapiens yeah no it’s okay we like the Happy surprises I love this cheese it’s blue cheese like have we Ser it with Jam a fig jelly the fig jelly goes with the blue
Cheese normally I have a fig jam with fagra I love that yeah it’s not too too sweet H okay it’s like the blue cheese just woke up yeah this is this is wonderful thank you for teaching me that yeah a little bit of blue cheese on good crunchy
Bread oh this is mild mhm now I’m going to try it with a fig Jam which I think will do it justice oh yeah did it wake it up it’s everything this is how to eat this cheese you have The Rustic flavor of the blue cheese with the sweet of the Fig
Jam and I’m having this with Burgundy wine wow this is really good this is how you have this cheese blue cheese fig Jam burgundy red wine you’re in Paradise if you like this video next I would watch this one about the five bakeries you need to try when you’re in Paris

I'd love to to to Paris and do a "small shops, restaurants, boulangeries tour" where the owners of the businesses buy their food, items they sell, from local farms, and artisans. It seems like it would be a more intimate, and personal tour showing me places that I would not be able to find on my own. Thank you guys for bringing us this video! You are so much fun to watch.
OMG!!!! This is even mouthwatering just watching you eat cheeses and drink wonderful wines and champagne! What a joy 🙂
Loved this, but what is this wine key? How may I buy it?
Oh this was so incredible!!! I'm having New Year's with some wine and cheese fans.. I'm going to bring the bleu, fig jam and burgundy to try!!!
When you're doing cheese tasting, better pair with some plain bread. Instead she chose 3 types of bread with nuts. And the other 2 Frenchies didn't bother correcting her lol
Love you guys… and your food videos "bien arrosés" are delightful… nice to see you getting slightly tipsy hehe. Keep on the good work and happy holidays.
We went to Vino Sapiens a few weeks ago based on your advice and holy cow, what an amazing experience! The wine tasting was very good and the staff was great answering our questions (and spoke English well). We walked out with 4 bottles that are being saved for a special occasion. Mercí!
Why am I watching this when I am hungry? Just love your reactions to the tastes. Wish I was there.
Thank you for useful video, in your opinion how many days should i stay in paris for a first visit? Thank you.
Wow this was another delightfully delectable video!! And you may not believe it, but one of the videos suggested for me by YouTube after watching this one was Phil Rosenthal's "I'll have what Phil is having" in Paris in 2015 – and one of the expert Parisians in the video used that same "Le petit Jesus…" phrase!!! Now I must incorporate it into my Paris prep….
Vincent has perfected the iconic French laugh "Hon Hon Hon." Funny and naughty at the same time. Just makes me smile. The warmth among the three of you is just a sight to behold.
We really enjoyed this video. Love cheese!
I was in Paris and France with my son in June 2023 and I really miss it. Your videos make me want to get back in the coming year.
Looks like your brother got all the hair in the family! Good video, I have to admit I'm a cheese peasant. I've never tried most of the cheeses I've seen, I stick to cheddar! lol
Bonjour guys. Keep up the amazing videos. We were in Paris in November and your suggestion were put to good use. I was wondering if you could advise what cheeses someone such as me can eat who is semi lactose intolerant in their middle age 😆 I love all cheese and if I don't have my medication with me I am hoping there are still some cheese I can enjoy. Merci. Chris
Great information— and great timing as I am planning a cheese and wine tasting. I know I won’t be able to find all of those cheeses here in the states, but you have given me guidelines for my cheese and wine selections.
You two are my favorite "Youtuber" . Your videos are informative, fun, and most of all, "On point". I travel a lot and will be living part time in France in a few months. Will be in Paris in 6 weeks and will be visiting to many places you both have recommended
Muy interesante las propuestas gastronómicas. Pero c'est trop, para ponerse como el quico (para reventar de comida) 😂
Wait! Tell me about the wine key!!
It's a nice cheesy video, but what is a name of the cheese with big holes you didn't pick it, it was on left on the top shelf to your pick?
I really, really enjoy you guys! Been watching since pretty early on. I especially enjoy these types of videos! Very fun to watch you guys (the 3 of you) all trying different things and just having a good time! Keep 'em coming!
ok, I love Antoine! ahaha he is hilarious!
Love your channel! I will be heading to Paris with my parents next fall of 2024 and I was wondering if you could maybe offer some places where me and my parents could "go out to." We plan on doing to Moulin Rouge and Crazy Horse, but would love suggestions on things to do after dinner or even after the moulin/crazy shows so we do not have to just go back to hotel.
I don’t usually comment, but I wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos! Great information and tips, I take screenshots and notes like crazy. I can’t wait to visit Paris again armed with your experience and help. The fact that you share multiple places for something like macrons, not just the usual top tourist spots, really feels well researched , I appreciate all of your leg work and taste testing 😉👋🏻🙏🏻
Omg i love, love Chicago!! ❤❤ I love Giordano's Pizza!! Chicago is one of my favorite walking cities. I hope you got to see the Christmas market at the Daley center.
What would you drink with cheese if you do not drink alcohol?
Fun video as always! ❤ I watched this one while eating my Costco sliced Havarti cheese 😂
All you guys looked to be having such a wonderful time drinking wine and eating cheese!!! What a way to live life! … I'm surprised more people didn't come through the door and join you all and turned it into a party! Did you lock the door!?? Hahahahaha! … This was amazing, I wish I could have been there with you guys!!! I always look forward to your posts, they're always entertaining 😀
I like cheddar cheese. What wine would you pair it with?
Please let your views know These fabulous cheeses are served at room temperature Not from the fridge! Wonderful blog Love your recommendations.
