ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and —whenever possible— lovely friends and family.

This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and —of course— antiques and art!

We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Merry Christmas everyone from Paris it’s time for the big Paris episode we have given you the Christmas in England episode the Christmas in Switzerland episode and now we bring you here back to France some exciting things happening all for the Christmas season here in Paris come with us for some Christmas

Cheer here in Paris so let’s go have some shopping fun to start in the we’re actually driving through the Lou in the fall I love is pretty cool I have to say look at that in the Wi just stuck in traffic next to the pyramid it’s another beautiful day here in Paris we are having a wonderful day out shopping but first for on our way to meet some friends I’m here with my favorite girl in the whole wide world our friends invited us to a lovely

Restaurant which they say that they chose because it’s named after me I suspect they chose it because it’s also next to one of France’s most iconic shopping arcades and so we’re in for a day of food shopping and fun I love Paris oh why oh why do I love Paris

Lovely just spotted a place that sells vintage jewelry these things are absolutely Beautiful it’s the most exciting it is a bookstore that sells old books new books and gorgeous [Applause] Cards so when I was growing up in Paris they used to always have these in the doctor’s offices and I don’t know if that’s a universal thing but I always remember these weird toys only up in a doctor’s office nowhere else the oldfashioned toys and they love

Oldfashioned toys here in Paris and also when you were growing up we had a lot of these wooden toys and and things oh look behind you you can see why I know because there are these beautiful shops and they just sell so many magical things I think we might need to go in

There Isabella beat me to it she’s already on her way I know that this is supposed to be a children’s shop but I’m fairly certain that we might walk out with something so sweet oh and it’s an old-fashioned Advent calendar that’s beautiful this is what I was looking for

Little felt ornaments aren’t they sweet Isabella come help me pick out some ornaments oh look they’re so cute oh the birds look at the birds how cute are those guys pine cone hedgehogs you used to love these marbles when you were little they’re so pretty Actually and the costumes so Sweet so we have just emerged from the gallery viven after having lunch at the beow viven I’m feeling um very flattered that so far our day has revolved around my name apparently but we are now as emerging into the L as the Sun is setting pass one of the most beautiful

Brasseries in Paris it’s called the gr have a quick peek inside gorgeous decorations all ready for christm coming up to plason doome got Bulgari right There [Applause] Here we are standing in the middle of the Shan Lis it’s Christmas time and we are surrounded by all of beautiful lights so it’s a very Paris Christmas So we had to stop for a little drink on the Shan what have you got I’ve got homemade hot chocolate oldfashioned St lovely you’ll have to tell me if it’s as good as Angelina Simon that’s a good pour that’s so satisfying delicious I must say I’ve had the hot chocolate

Angelina I do think I prefer it because then they did the whole shebang with the whipped cream and you can also get really nice cakes and it’s slightly thicker cuz I like when hot chocolate it’s really thick where they actually melt the chocolate in front of you yeah

Right behind me we’re about to go into the Magnificent Church of San franois zavier it is so exquisitly beautiful and it’s also home to the most beautiful nativity scene in in all of France with over a th000 santon you guys ready to go in looking forward to it here

Go oh look oh my go isn’t it spectacular this is one of my favorite churches in Paris let’s go see the nativity scene I’m ready don’t this no F the thing that makes this Crush so special is that all of the characters represent all the people of French society so you’ve got the fishermen the trades people the baker all of the people in everyday Life But a wonderful glimpse into the history of France and the life of of the life of the general Population thing I really love about this church is that it is our Village Church this is in the neighborhood that we live in in Paris and it is really a family place it’s uh it’s not it’s not a tourist attraction although obviously it’s so spectacularly beautiful that

Tourists do come here to see the art and the structure but it’s also a place where many people from the neighborhood come regularly and everyone knows each other and that’s still a special Thing [Applause] I love Paris in the spring time I love Paris in the fall I love love Paris in the winter when it Drizzles I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles I love Paris every moment every moment of the year I Love so dad’s all fogged up cuz it’s colder in France than it was in England isn’t it and Italy and Italy well of course Italy but usually it’s not cold dad you can’t see to walk down the street like that I know I can’t even see the ground
