My Journey in Central Europe (Basel, Switzerland; Alsace, France; Kehl, Germany) in November 2023 (Recap) Part 2 – the EP.

Our day from the project, when we were in the EP.
Alsace – flat land, fields, little forests, great arrangement on all of them without any unused space. Every corner is used and even some roundabouts are planted with grape vines. Living art place – Strasbourg, city of France and city functioning as Heart of EU. Ideal transport system, maintenance of the old city and the new one too. The channels of Ill go through the whole city flowing into the Rhine. That’s one very large river passing all the Alsace region and being “border” between Strasbourg and Germany. The city of Strasbourg is not just EU city, it is marvel with its architecture projects like the Medieval Catholic Cathedral – Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, high 142m, St. Paul’s Protestant Cathedral on the shore of Ill river, the old houses in Petite – France, all bridges, churches and streets. The little Venice in Colmar could join in this list too. Comparing people by character, I can’t say anything bad either. Many foreigners, especially from Turkey, have chosen this place as their home, and it is obvious why. Otherwise, Alsace remains a wonderful place for French wine, croissants and a stroll down a street, sailing in the channels, learning about the rich history of knights or simply enjoying the Alsace’s plains or the Vosges mountains.
Thanks to the project, for being part of it, for the visiting not only the Alsace region, but the EU parliament too – the heart of Europe. Massive and of course impressive designed building, gigantic and comfortable central hall, elegant interior and grand tunel inside the parliament through wich the rooms are connected by bridges, between which tall vines remind us for the EU green future.
Great project, thanks to which, my friends and I saw how EU parliament works, saw a role model city – Strasbourg, but also we learned about Alsace region and Colmar – the birthplace of NY’s Sratue of Liberty, let’s not forget about one of the most rich cities in EU – Basel, Switzerland and maybe the future district of Strasbourg on the other shore of Rhine – Kehl, Germany. Thanks!
