INGREDIENTS:

for 4 people
– 4 nice steaks: ribeye, sirloin, fillet, rump steak, entrecôte…
– 25g (0.9 Oz) of butter
– Herbes de provence (mixed dried aromatic herbs: thyme, oregano, sage etc…)
– 1-2 tablespoons of peppercorns per steak
– salt
For the STEAK AU POIVRE, you do not need herbes de provence but will need this for the sauce:
– a small liquor glass of Cognac
– 25g to 40g (0.9 Oz to 1.4 Oz) of crème fraiche

PREPARATION + COOKING TIME: 15 minutes.

SERVING SUGGESTION: Of course it goes well with French fries – the classic steak-frites! But also mashed potatoes or Gratin Dauphinois.
