Stepping into magic and into New Orleans Square for a visit to Tiana’s Palace! Princess Tiana is the owner of a brand new restaurant in New Orleans Square. Tiana’s Palace is a quick service restaurant that opened at the beginning of September. Guests can dine on delicious cajun-inspired items like gumbo, shrimp and grits, and beef po’boys. Upon arriving, we’re delighted to see Tiana herself entertaining her patrons while dancing along to tunes from the Jambalaya Jazz Band. After this very warm welcome, we head towards the entrance to check out the restaurant, anxiously awaiting a delicious meal. Upon entering Tiana’s Palace, we notice the ornate decor and Disney touches sprinkled throughout the building. The wall mural and decorative fixtures are nice touches. The recipe cards were a cute detail that we looked at while perusing the menu for something to satisfy our cajun cravings. The available dishes fall within a price range of about $15-20 per entree. Tiana recommends dessert first, and while we may not have taken that suggestion, we did purchase their dessert option and tried their house-made beignets (stuffed with lemon cream right in front of you)! While not the traditional beignet, it is tasty (especially if you love lemon). The beef po’boy is composed of slow-cooked and tender beef and is much tastier than expected. It’s paired with a side of red beans and rice. The shrimp and grits is a perfect pairing of creamy cheesy grits and tasty shrimp with a tomato sauce drizzle. The house gumbo is a mouthful of flavor and comes with braised chicken and andouille sausage. The cajun spiced half chicken is a large portion and is served with a tasty side of mac n cheese and coleslaw. The muffuletta sandwich comes with salami, ham, cheddar, provolone and a savory olive relish. It’s also paired with a delicious side of red beans and rice and pickles. Having an affinity for cajun style cuisine, Tiana’s Palace will be a frequent stop for us and definitely worth checking out if the menu seems appealing. After satisfying our hunger, we head into the French Quarter, and spot one of our favorite pirates, Red (5:58)! Once inside the French Quarter, we catch a glimpse of Jack Skellington and Sally (6:36). We pause to admire the artists at work at the caricature stand outside of Blue Bayou and then head inside Eudora’s to browse the shop. We love the details of New Orleans Square and could linger much longer, but ultimately make our way around the alleyways, past the Mint Julep Bar and fountain (as well as the lengthy Haunted Mansion Holiday queue) and end our tour with a final view of Tiana’s Palace. We hope you enjoyed dining with us in New Orleans square. Thanks so much for watching!
